devices than PC, e.g. smart card reader?

[android-beginners] USB Networking

2010-05-29 Thread Ubuntu Explorer
Hi,
This could be a commonly asked question and I am sorry if I am
posting it again, but after hours of googling and trying various
things, I still am not able to find the device usb0 - either on the
Ubuntu laptop or on the device (Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700). adb
devices does list the device but I cannot see the usb0 device in
ifconfig/lshw -class network on the Ubuntu PC.

I do not have a WiFi AP / WiFi card in my PC and I would like to
access the android market application from the device using USB.

Buying a $10-$20 WiFi AP will solve it I suppose, but I want to know
if I can go the USB way?

Regards,
UE.

[android-beginners] USB Headphones?

2009-05-29 Thread Troglodad

I was wondering why only HTC USB headphones work with the ADP1/G1? I
tried a different MiniUSb to headphone adapter and get cold silence.

What is the pin out on the G1's mini USB port?

[android-beginners] USB data acquisition

2009-07-09 Thread Mas

Hello,

I am doing a feasibility study using an Android Dev phone. I want to
attach the phone using the USB cable (or the serial port) to a sensor.
In an application, I want to pole the sensor over the cable and have
the resultant value displayed on the screen. The interaction between
the sensor and the phone would involve the phone sending down a
request data byte and the sensor responding with the necessary data.
Is a data acquisition application of this nature possible on the
phone?

Thank you for your time,
Mas

[android-beginners] USB Mouse Not working after install

2009-04-27 Thread MCruiseOn Dev Team
I have just purchased a Desktop Intel 41TY, Intel Core 2 Deo, 2GB, 500GB. I
have a KVM switch connected to a BenQ 14inch TFT monitor. A USB mouse attached
to the Desktop and a PS2 Keyboard connected to the KVM switch.

Problems with the setup
1) The display gets screwed when I move from one terminal and back to the GUI
terminal
2) Mouse just does not work. The Left Click works, but no movement. Around the
mouse cursor is some kind of box with red lines instead of a cursor.

I guess Untangle does not have the drivers for this monitor (around 4 years
old) and mouse. Can someone guide me to debug the exact problem. Is it the
driver or something else.

Siddharth
