[android-developers] Re: Developer fee payment canceled after 2.5 years

2013-01-12 Thread Krystian Lewandowski
Hi,
same here, registered in February 2009. Cancelled last week because of
long inactivity time.
I have a few small apps there so i wasn't inactive.

I was asked to pay again. I'm confused now.

 Hi!

I'm struggling with this problem since yesterday, when I tried to log
into my Google Play Console just to find a message like this:

 ---
THE PAYMENT FOR THE REGISTRATION FEE HAS FAILED
In order to access your account, you need a successful registration fee
 payment
 ---

So my apps are still published, but I can't manage any of them. No
price changes, no descripcion updates and, of course, no new .apk...

Since I've been a registered Android developer circa July 2010, I
wonder what the heck happened. After checking my Checkout order I
found that it was canceled because it has been inactive for a long
 period of time

10 Ene - Google ha cancelado su pedido porque ha estado inactivo
durante un largo período de tiempo.

This seems like a known issues(Developer Console or Publishing
Issues/Unable to complete Google Play Android Developer Account
Registration ), but as the description of the issue appears to refer
to new accounts, I think it doesn't apply to me:

 https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/bin/static.py?hl=enpage=known_issues.cs

I've already sent a support ticket, but you all know how long will this
 take...

Searching on Google, forums or mail lists I couldn't find anyone with
the same problem, so I decided to try and post it here in case anyone
 is having the same issue.

I'll keep you informed in case this is useful for anyone.

 Regards.

I'm not sure which one, because I sent 3 requests. First and second
using Report Google Play Developer Registration or Account Issue

http://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/bin/request.py?contact_type=dev_registration

I sent two tickets because after filling the form, I read that
further action was requires by me side, check email and never got
any email, so I repeated the process.

The third one was for Google Checkout itself Contact us about your
Google Checkout orders:

http://support.google.com/checkout/sell/bin/request.py?contact_type=order_issuehl=en

This time I got my email but it was really useless, as it just said to
check the known errors page and check the forums and so...

The aforementioned response, was from The Google Play Team so it
looks that it was because of the first form.

I hope you guys can solve the issue too!

[android-developers] Re: Getting java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError and java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError

2013-01-12 Thread Nobu Games
The method swig_module_init cannot be found in your native library or
libraries either because:

- The native library does not exist for the target processor architecture
- The native library is not correctly loaded
- The method does not exist in the native library (check for correct
spelling of package and method name).

Especially the last point can happen if you refactor your Java code without
making the according changes in your native code.

[android-developers] Re: Animations in the list view

2013-01-12 Thread Nobu Games
The quick and incorrect approach would be starting these growing animations
from your ListAdapter's getView method. Right before you return the
convertView you'd start the animation object on that view.

However, there is a problem with that animation approach because ListViews
lays out its child views (items) and determines their positions. So using
an Animation object for transforming the height of an item (grow animation)
would not affect the other list items. They would statically remain in
their locations and your new item that slides in will just grow into a gap
that is exactly that item's full size.

Following solution ideas:

- You override ListView and add some layout animation behavior that does
what you need

- Animate the height of your added item using a Timer object. Trigger
re-layouts of the ListView in order to align the other child views
accordingly.
(However, I don't know whether you'll need to constantly invalidate your
listadapter in order to make that work. This might turn out to be a pretty
wasteful approach!)

No it's not ... in the body it has this (emphasis mine)

I don't know what more you want. This clearly shows you how to do what you

well, good luck with that.

It's so obvious of a bug that I wouldn't even think about it. On the other
hand, if you find your bank account shy by a quarter million, then perhaps
some concern would be in order.

fill out a form and if you win the lottery, you might get a response. Good

That's it? I've lost about 400. Don't stress about it too much - Google
Play stats are notoriously unreliable. It's either a bug or change in the
way they report stuff. We'll probably never really know.

Ahh you might be on to something here! Because I also did sent a report
using the same link as your first link.
And indeed I got this message on the page too saying you need to check your
email. I closed it and checked my email but nothing. Thought: well maybe
it said you'll get an answer via email instead of check your email for
further steps. So decided to wait for a reply

So it might be you got a reply on your third request though you said
also the reply was from the Google Play team. So it could be from one
of your first 2 requests.. well I'll try a 2nd one too and also using
your 2nd link.

Thanks for sharing!

Isn't that active user installs?

*Active User Installs*: Number of unique users who have the app *currently
installed* on at least one active device.
*Total User Installs*: The total number of unique users who *have ever
installed* this app on one or more of their devices.

According to the description, it sounds like Total is basically a
download count and should never go down.

Nothing to be scared of, Android doesn't bite =)
I'd suggest you start with the information on the Developer site, which has
tons of working samples you can use as a base. You can work in the
functionality you need as you go.

[android-developers] How to specify an IntentFilter that only activates when the Intent comes from within my own app?

2013-01-12 Thread William Ferguson
I have an Activity that responds to the ACTION_SEND Intent. Is there any
way for me to be able to specify the IntentFilter such that the Activity is
only displayed by the IntentChooser when it has been called from within my
app?

Ie I want the SendIntentResponderActivity displayed as a viable recipient
of ACTION_SEND, but only if I am the one that issued the Intent. NB
displaying my Activity shouldn't stop other standard responders (such as
Gmail etc) from also being displayed.

activity android:name=.SendIntentResponderActivity
 intent-filter
 action android:name=android.intent.action.SEND/
 category android:name=android.intent.category.DEFAULT/
 data android:mimeType=text/plain/
 /intent-filter
 /activity

 final Intent shareIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_SEND);
 shareIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_SUBJECT, subject);
 shareIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, content);
final Intent chooserIntent = Intent.createChooser(shareIntent, Share
 via));
 context.startActivity(chooserIntent);

Re: [android-developers] How to specify an IntentFilter that only activates when the Intent comes from within my own app?

2013-01-12 Thread Kristopher Micinski
That seems sort of silly, if I'm understanding you correctly: you
usually don't launch a chooser based intent just to talk to your own
app again, unless it's to possibly choose another app. You might look
at a signature based idea (meaning other people can't respond to it,
for security), but otherwise I'm not sure I see the use case. Maybe
I'm just not reading it correctly.

Re: [android-developers] How to specify an IntentFilter that only activates when the Intent comes from within my own app?

2013-01-12 Thread William Ferguson
Thanks Joman, exactly what I was after.

@Kristopher the use case is simple: I want to offer clients the ability to
share using the standard Android mechanism and I want to provide a sharing
end point myself. But for commercial reasons my end point is only
appropriate if the Intent comes from within my app. Ie it shouldn't be
available from within other apps.
