[android-developers] Re: Bluetooth Low Energy Encrypted Characteristic Read Write
Hi Ashvini, Do you have any suggestion about issue mention here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21398766/android-ble-connection-time-interval ? This is regards Connection time interval. What else I can try for this? See http://developer.android.com/reference/android/bluetooth/BluetoothGattCharacteristic.html#setWriteType(int) Also as far as I know there is no need to explicitly pair with BLE devices, it just happens automagically. You just scan for available devices and connect with the ones your interested in using. Hope that helps. However, when I programmed the same chip for encrypted characteristics, I am facing some issues. - Connection drops sometimes after write characteristic descriptor is performed. - The devices once paired with phone can not be un-paired. (This is known issue and confirmed the same from android issue tracker). - Getting following statement in logs quite often but not able to understand the status code - 133. D/BluetoothGatt(1780): onClientConnectionState() - status=133 clientIf=4 device=CC:F3:A5:4D:CB:3F - The phone also logs this statement for state change. In stable state, received invalid newState: 10 I do not seem to find a way to instruct the phone to get paired with the chip. Also there is no way to specify that we want to perform *encrypted read-write operations*. You can emulate Mifare with an actual secure element, if supported, and if you have the keys to manage it (that is what older editions of Google Wallet do in order to emulate some loyalty cards, etc.) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Android Developers group. Looks like you've done well. Unless you are willing to pay for advertising, why not just give similar games bad reviews and mention your game in the review. [android-developers] Home screen icon ads
I know this probably isn't the right group for this question but I'm not sure where else to ask and have googled with no appropriate hits. Recently I've been getting a whole bunch of these annoyances and haven't installed anything outside of the Play Store so apparently somebody isn't playing by Googles new rules and is getting away with it! [android-developers] Speech-to-text displays Google's logo
Folks, Our Android application uses RecognizerIntent.ACTION_RECOGNIZE_SPEECH activity. When the activity is launched, it actually displays Google's logo. Looks like this activity is not really part of Android SDK but a contribution from Google. This is fine for our use. My issue is slightly different. I am working on a dialog box that displays third-party copyright notices. Do I need to mention something like Speech recognition is powered by Google? I could not find any licensing document on this component. Thank you in advance for your help. [android-developers] Re: Home screen icon ads
It could be just about any app that uses some ad(ware) SDK. As far as I know doing that kind of thing also requires a specific permission ( com.android.launcher.permission.INSTALL_SHORTCUT). So you could look through your list of installed apps and look for one with that permission. Maybe there are also AdWare scanner apps that can automate that search for you. [android-developers] Changes in the 2013 version of GCM
I'm migrating my app's GCM support to the 2013 version, and I'm confused by some things. The docs are very inconsistent and don't properly distinguish between the versions, so let me see if I have this right - this is now the 3rd version - in 2011 Google introduced C2DM, in 2012 they changed it to GCM, and in 2013 we got GCM version 2. In GCM1 the app responded to GCM admin intents, e.g. register, unregister, and error. In GCM2 the app is in control. It detects when the app is updated, requests a new reg ID, and stores it, etc.. It's broadcast receiver is used to receive GCM messages but the old GCM admin messages are ignored. This seems very brittle compared to GCM1 so I wonder if I'm missing something: it is hard-coded into the app that *the RegID will always and only change when the app version changes*. Am I correct in my understanding? Thanks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Android Developers group.
