[android-developers] [Socket/Client-Server communication ] how to verify if url and port is working fine

2013-04-07 Thread A N K ! T

Problem is can not able to write/read data to server. Want to verify if url

Can anybody tell me how can i verify this data by sending a request
manually, may be creating like a webURL or via any tool. kind of helpful,

publicly available so can add a app also in development which can make
use of this library.

If anybody knows and can share what changes need to be done for this.

If it bothers you that much, come up with a more unique name.

 For example,

In the Beginning, you initialize an ArrayList like this:

In your parsing code, as when you discover an item, you can do:

 mNames.add(item.toString());

I hope this helps you to an extent..

is a flag you can set in the Intent when launching the activity to prevent
it from showing up in this list.

Look up Intent in the reference, the flag starts with FLAG_ACTIVITY_

[android-developers] how to get focus color of button in theme

2010-10-15 Thread A N K ! T
Hi there,

I want to extract the current theme's button focus colour (ie 'orange'
in the dark theme) so I can use it draw the focused state of a custom
control.

Can anyone give me or point me to some code that will extract that
particular colour from the current theme's StyledAttributes? There
don't seem to be too many examples out there.
(I realise that focused buttons are probably drawn using drawables,
but is the focus colour stored separately as a colour resource in the
current theme's styles?)

You can simply add a 1 or 2 pixel high TextView iwth no text and a unique
background color. Or an ImageView with a custom drawable that defines the
 divider.

Call setCenter() and setZoom() on your MapController, obtained via

Re: [android-developers] Re: how to press menu key programmatically..

2010-09-08 Thread A N K ! T
yes i mean to unlock the screen by pressing menu key...
i can achieve this task by the methods keyGuardDisable
in KeyGuardLock class
but i dont think this is the right way to do this...
On Tue, Sep 7, 2010 at 9:32 PM, Zhenyu Jiang jfo...@gmail.com wrote:

maybe he means unlock the screen by pressing the menu key.
i think you cannot achieve it by your app, since the key event
is poped up by the system and delivered to upper layer apps.

 2010/9/7, Yahel kaye...@gmail.com:
 i think pressing menu key
Not sure what you mean by open lock, but the way to call the menu
  programmatically is :

  Activity.openOptionsMenu();

  Good luck.

 Step 1: Read the documentation:
 Activity.getCurrentFocushttp://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/Activity.html#getCurrentFocus%28%29

 Calls
 getCurrentFocus()http://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/Window.html#getCurrentFocus%28%29
  on
the Window of this Activity to return the currently focused view.

 OK, so let's look at
 Window.getCurrentFocushttp://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/Window.html#getCurrentFocus%28%29
 :

Return the view in this Window that currently has focus, or null if there
 are none.

Oh, so if there is no focus, you get null. Since you are getting null, you
have no focused view. Problem solved.

please let me know what shu i do now

 Check for null.
