Perhaps you obfuscated your code? waait a mintute... JPL is just a connector to SWI Prolog (standard Prolog environment). As the name suggests it only mediates between Java and Prolog engine. The same way that JDBC driver alone does not give you persistence, JPL alone is not Prolog yet. You need to look into pure Java Prolog implelentation.
