Re: [android-developers] How to connect android device with local network

2011-09-21 Thread Ravi Sharma
If Emulator is working that means uc ode is code..
may be you should troubleshoot ur network
1) Confirm that both device computer and android definitely in same network
2) find out ip address of both
3) See if you have added permission in ur android config file to use
Internet(i assume its there as emulator is working(
4) try to ping android phone from computer

[android-developers] Closing Many Activity at once

2011-07-05 Thread Ravi Sharma
Hi,
I have Activities tree like this
My Application Starts With Activity A(Login)
Then from A user can go to Activity B
Then from B User can go to C
Then From C user can go to D or back to B
Then From D user can go to E or back to C

In Short (as in any mobile apps)
A -> B <-> C <-> D <-> E

Now i have requirment hten whene user choose some option(Cancel) in Menu at
Activity E or D or C, user should got back to Activity B(not A as its Login)
Now i call this.finish on the activity where cancel was pressed but it
doesnt take me to Actvity B(unless i am already on C), it takes me to only
one activity back.

And starting new Intesnt for Activity B wont help as it will keep creating
new activity and then when user will press back it will go back from B to
E..which is wrong.

Could you please suggest something

Thanks
Ravi.

oopsi and forgot to write...in constructor make sure you assign that
fucntion as setOnCLickListener

this.setOnCLickListener(this)

public MyButton (){
this.setOnCLickListener(this)
}

public MyButton (TextView tv){
this.textView = tv;
this.setOnCLickListener(this)
}

Re: [android-developers] Which button is clicked in my activity

2011-07-05 Thread Ravi Sharma
Hi Rockline
Use

android:onClick="selfDestruct"

in your xml where you have define Buttons,
So for each button you can saprate function in java class which will be
invoked when you click on it

Where button1Click and button2Click are your java functions

You can Read more about this here

http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/Button.html

Re: [android-developers] Re: Which button is clicked in my activity

2011-07-05 Thread Ravi Sharma
other way is what jaswant has suggested, but i wouldnt use it. not
object oriented...i persoanlly dont like functions which has too many ifs
then elses, in your case it may go upto 100
also if your requirment is just changing a label...then i would say do
somethin glike this

Class MyButton extends Button implemnts ClickListener{
TextView textView;

public MyButton (){
this.textView = tv;
}

public MyButton (TextView tv){
this.textView = tv;
}

public void onButtonClick(View view){
  tv.setText("Whatever you want to change");
}
}

Now inject your textView either by Constructor or create a setter and use
that. Now you will write only one ClickListener and all will work same way.

Use this if all buttons have same functionality. And this is quite basic
pattern you can modify it as per your other requirments.
