[android-developers] same here

2011-10-20 Thread solid
I too have this same problem. I see this exception any time I try to
invoke the GPS either from my app or the pre-installed google maps app
in the emulator.

[android-developers] Android Market rejecting icons

2009-05-27 Thread solid

I have finished the first version of my app and I am trying to upload
it to the market. But every time I select my apk file for upload, the
market upload website says: The icon for your application is not
valid. Please use a 48x48 PNG. I have checked my image and resaved it
in gimp at various dpi. I have rebuilt several times. I keep
gettin the same error. what gives? Is there a fix?

[android-developers] android by example

2009-02-08 Thread solid

How do I get the source for stock android apps. I specifically want
the source for the music app and the dialer. I have tried downloading
from the git repository but every attempt complains about not being
able to find it. What is the correct procedure for accessing the
source for the stock android apps?

[android-developers] Emulator from eclipse

2009-02-04 Thread solid

I am trying to run my emulator from within eclipse. I have configured
the android plugin to add "-audio oss" as a parameter for the emulator
when it starts up. For some reason, however it does not do it. What
is the trick to this? Why does eclipse ignore the parameters in its
own configuration?

[android-developers] keytool - need help

2009-02-01 Thread solid

I am new to developing android apps. I have been writing java webapps
for years and decided to try my hand at this. I have my app humming
along in the emulator but I am having problems installing my app on
the g1 itself. I copied the apk file to the sd card and I used the
apps installer app from the market to install off the SD card. I get
prompted for the install and everything seems to go fine but the my
new app never shows up in the apps menu or in the installed
applications. I am hoping this is simply because I did not sign it.
I am trying to figure out how to sign a app but this is weird and
counterintutive. I already have a gpg key. Can that be used to sign
my app? If so, how do I import my key into the keytool store? Is
there something I am missing?

[android-developers] Android email client

2008-10-22 Thread solid

I just got my brand new G1 and I was setting up my email client for my
server. I am using imaps (port 993) with a self signed cert.
Actually it is signed by startcom (http://www.startcom.org/).
Whenever I set the configs, I get the Not trusted certificate error.
Is there a way to install a new trusted authority? Or is there a way
to accept a certificate for all of android? What is the timeline on
fixing the email client.
