[android-developers] Re: Android market .... what's happening?

2009-11-19 Thread ty
Same problem here. All of our apps are being affected by this.

For example, one went from 6+ downloads to only 5018 overnight.
This is also impacting rankings on the Andrid market which is serious.
When this problem occured, one of our apps dropped from #2 spot in its
category (it's been there steady for over two months) all the way down
to number 16. Hard to believe that such an overnight drop is organic
and think that it has something to do with the mix-up in number of
downloads and ratings.

Does anyone see an official response from Google on this topic
somewhere?

My active downloads also dropped, and the market also says I have 0
ratings and comments, though they are visible. This is only on my
paid version. The free version is unaffected.

All my 3 apps are affected and I bet there's no single App on the
marked that is intact. Interesting that I have more reviews than
ratings. They screwed the database alright. The dev concole still
shows old numbers but then it is always lagging due to caching

I bet some engineers at Google are sweating profusely at this point.
If any of your happen to read this (which I doubt), good luck in
fixing this issue!

@niko: thanks; we're working on it! We can't wait to get remote-login rolled
out so we can turn back to some non-essential, but FUN features, like sound,
more settings, perhaps collaboration features :-)

A friend, Chris, developer of Spending Monitor first notice the Market
issues on his paid version, but his Free was okay. About 45 minutes later,
his Free got botched too.

Whatever's wrong, it seems to be spreading!
