Re: [android-freerunner] Restart working on android
have you formatted the SD card correctly? You need two partitions. The first one should be fat (or vfat, can't remember which). Android treats this as it's own SD card. The second should be ext2 or ext3 and that is what gets mounted as /data. On Wed, 20 May 2009, Nicolas MORA wrote: Marcus Stong a ?crit : Hi Michael, Glad you're back. I can delete the message from the memory when I copy to the phone? Sounds like a good idea to me. SIM memory may be limited, most phones I've ever had have moved incoming SMS to their own memory. Re: [android-freerunner] Debian-X11 from android
That's an interesting way of going about things. You could probably do this now. I had been investigating layering debian on top of android but found out that the solutions so far are not a first-class debian install. i.e. it's actually just a loop mounted image, a chroot and possibly unionfs to make things look like they're in the same space. Would be nice if you could install android as a set of debian packages. Now adding a vnc server and a vnc viewer to that, well, it's a neat way to get X on there without extending the android UI, though it feels a little ... inelegant. Definitely the easiest way to use X apps with android though. Re: [android-freerunner] State of Bluetooth
Michael, Yes, /dev/socket directory exists when I boot from qi, but there is no dbus entry under it. I'll be able to do the log thing later or tomorrow, I don't have my FR with me today. And yes, Andy, I can say there's something wrong with something, not be specific, only that using that rootfs, kernel and qi causes me problems. I do actually like qi a lot, the boot time is so much faster. I'll report on the actual bluetooth/headset thing at some point too. I was able to answer a call with the button on it, which was pretty cool, but music still came out of the phone speaker. Thanks, D. It can be a problem in the kernel or rootfs that is exposed by Qi, it's what happened with other rootfs recently with this read-only mount thing. - -Andy Can you increase android loglevel to 8 and send a complete dmesg after that. The level 8 show if I remember the device creation and the directory creation. Do you have the socket directory under dev. That is created by the init process. Looks good to me. We would still have the problem of the library not being accepted into the android repository run by google, if that's considered a problem? I will check, the only change thing is the rfkill device number. Can you check if your init.rc use chmod on that (rfkill0 and rfkill1) Michael These lines are present - chmod 666 /sys/class/rfkill/rfkill1/state # Open up access to wireless rfkill chmod 666 /sys/class/rfkill/rfkill0/state I haven't actually messed with what's on the NAND other than the new rild lib.
