Re: [Angstrom-devel] Akita, c7x0, simpad, spitz and tosa kernel 2.6.24 images available from the angstrom stable branch

2008-03-08 Thread Morten Hulden

If you want to help out your machine mentors by testing kernel 2.6.24
for akita, c7x0, simpad, spitz or tosa, grab a 2007.12-r9 image from
 http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/ , install it
and tell us all about it.

I would like to test a usb webcam with akita but I can't find the
sn9c102 module in the feed. Any chance to get it added?

Hi,

for akita, c7x0, simpad, spitz or tosa, grab a 2007.12-r9 image from
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/ , install it
and tell us all about it.

Zaurus users should download the 'installkit' tarballs and will find
the updater.sh, zImage.bin and rootfs file ready for flashing inside,
the simpad users will need the jffs2 file and flash it according to
the instructions on opensimpad.org.

happy testing,

Koen

I just don't know anything about anything but I dusted off my Akita and
blew away the pdaXrom I've had there for about a year without using it
and then flashed angstom x11 r9. So how can I help? Most (kernel) things
work. Wlan is ok -- just did ipkg update + upgrade. Screen auto-rotate
works. No sound though. Perhaps need to install some alsa stuff? Cannot
run as usb host,

Morten H.

Try unmuting stuff with alsamixer (or install alsa stuff, should it not be
present), and modprobe ohcd-hci for USB host.

OK,thanks. Loading ohci_hcd module found my cam but rejected it due to
unsufficient bus power. Need to find a powered hub. Will try again later.

Unmuting all channels in alsamixer did not help with sound. Also, in
GUI, Sound setup's Test -button is greyed out. snd_ modules loaded
are: snd_soc_spitz, snd_soc_pxa2xx_i2s, snd_soc_wm8750, snd_soc_core,
snd_pcm_oss, snd_timer, snd_page_alloc, snd_mixer_oss, snd, soundcore.
If it is supposed and verified to work on akita + -r9 then don't waste
time on instructing me. But if sound status on akita/r9 is unknown maybe
I can help with some simple tests.

hate replying to my own mail, but it was Automatic volume setting in
Sound Settings that actually inactivated the Test button. Sound works
both in headphones and speaker, at least the test sound! Thanks
