Re: [Angstrom-devel] linux-rp 2.6.24 updates in .dev

2008-06-14 Thread Andrea Adami
Would someone please bother to make linux-rp_2.6.24 default for c7x0 in .dev?

Thanks

Andrea

 Bad news:

 1) sharpsl-rc-r1.patch and sharpsl-rc-r2.patch breaks tosa building
 with an undefined reference.

 2) pxa2xx_udc-clock.patch and htcuni.patch conflicts with
 tosa/0017-Convert-pxa2xx-UDC-to-use-debugfs.patch
 tosa/0018-Fix-the-pxa2xx_udc-to-balance-calls-to-clk_enable-cl.patch.
AFAIK, tosa/0018 is a better implementation of pxa2xx_udc-clock patch.

Perhaps, but the pxa2xx_udc-clock.patch is a direct backport from 2.6.25
so this should go away in the next kernel upgrade. If you think your
soln is more elegant you should push it at the kernel maintainer. - --

And 0018 patch is the one that was commited into the kernel :)

With best wishes

Wish I had known more about the oe tree before I backported it :(
Excellent work on your submission,

Can you provide a detail, please? It should not happen, even if you will
activate Remote Control support.

There is no reason to activate it on Tosa, because it has no RC
hardware. Only spitz+CE-RH2 (confirmed), akita+CE-RH2 (expected) and
c7x0+CE-RH1 (expected) are supported by this patch, but it is intended
to be clean enough to not break other platforms.

 2) htcuni.patch conflicts with

There may be one small and easily fixable conflict with
sharpsl-rc-r1.patch as well.

AFAIK, tosa/0018 is a better implementation of pxa2xx_udc-clock patch.

Previously, those conflicting patches are conditional, however RP's
unconditional change make things look bad on Tosa. I will communicate
with RP and Dmitry to see how we can move things forward, assuming some
of the patches are accepted upstream.

Good news:

I just fixed the 2.6.24 unbootable behavior in defconfig.

Gordon
