for modules there exists some framework in cloud.common
(https://galaxy.ansible.com/cloud/common) called 'Ansible turbo module'
providing something like that (disclaimer: I've never used it). Not
sure whether that also works for plugins though...

True, it's not ansible problem.
"I restricted to run" oh I am not running for anyone, this means on Jenkins
I explicilty marked the slave where this ansible is running.

Again this doesn't looks like an ansible problem but rather a generic
problem with how to execute things in your specific environment.
Your statement that "you are restricted to run this.." means that you are
doing this for someone, ask that person(s) to help you.

I fixed my issue, its not sshpass issue, the ansible executable path
specified on global tool configuration is wrong. I found the executable
path when I did anisble --version and I updated the same from the above
output and the playbook is running fine.

Re: [ansible-project] Regarding Citrix Support for Ansible

2023-05-03 Thread Todd Lewis
You seem to be missing the point of our questions. When Dick Visser
asked, "How would you do such a thing without ansible?" and "Could you
tell us how you do this currently?", he's not asking for you to restate
the problem. We know you find and kill hung user processes, and that you
do it manually.

Rather, he's asking: "Please state the steps you currently execute to
accomplish this task manually." If you can explain your manual solution
to us, then together perhaps we can explain it to Ansible.

Think of it this way. If you were going on vacation for 2 months, and a
new employee who has never seen this system before is supposed to take
care of things while you're gone, what exact, detailed instructions
would you give that person? Now, imagine that person's name is Ansible
von Blunderklutz. Because it's this level of detail we need, not
"manually" or "get hung user sessions and kill them". Those are fine
goals, but they are not processes. Ansible lets you automate processes.

So, what's your current process?

Re: [ansible-project] Error: ansible playbook from jenkins

2023-05-03 Thread Dick Visser
Yes that may be but the problem is that sshpass is not available.
You need to fix that and then the playbook will run.
How that would work with your Jenkins is up to you (or Jenkins).

2023-05-03 Thread Amit Kulkarni
Hello All,

I am looking for help where we have T1 Citrix Console and in that User
sessions get hung & those hung sessions need to be killed.

Is there any way we can achieve this with Ansible?

I tried to look it up but unable to find any information, appreciate your
help on this.

Regards

Re: [ansible-project] How to reuse an http client object ?

2023-05-03 Thread Jan Goyvaerts

No collections. Just the classic *_plugins directories. For example
action_plugins.

The code is available to the controlling node too. What I'm trying to
achieve is to create once the pysnow client, put it 'somewhere' and have
the action plugins access this very same object. However, what is that
'somewhere', if any.

Unfortunately, every task runs in a different process (the pid is
different) but they all share the same parent process. So, maybe, there is
a way. I guess this is what Ansible does when it reuses the ssh connection.

Just don't know where to look :-)

[ansible-project] How to reuse an http client object ?

2023-05-03 Thread Jan Goyvaerts
Hello Community,

Is it possible to put a client object somewhere so it can be shared/reused
by custom plugins ? That is, only for tasks running on the controlling
node.

I'm trying to reuse the very same pysnow client object in successive tasks.
Hoping to improve the performance of a very long running playbook.
