Re: [ansible-project] Working with Ansible Galaxy Roles
Thanks for the prompt response Jonathan So the roles being separate git repos would then be git submodules? Is that the idea? I'll read up on requirements.yml now. [ansible-project] Working with Ansible Galaxy Roles
Hi Everyone There's about 10 developers working on our ansible codebase, configuring approx 20 VM's, it's going to grow rapidly. We've just started working with ansible galaxy roles and I was wondering if anyone has any links/tips/suggestions on how to manage the workflow? We'd like to be able to update the ansible galaxy roles easily. Are we talking about using git submodules here? I've read a bit about a requirements file? Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Matt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ansible Project" group. [ansible-project] Re: Using ansible to manage windows 10 vm software applications with no Internet Access
Hi Jon Thanks for getting back to me. Your plan was what I was thinking of doing, or something along those lines anyway. Due to me being such a lazy beggar I was hoping someone would have written up the process of building that sort of system, with all the pitfalls and things to watch out for. I'm sure someone has to be honest, just need to find it. Thanks again Matt On Sunday, 29 April 2018 20:42:54 UTC+1, J Hawkesworth wrote: > > I don't manage windows desktops, only windows servers, but one thing you > could do is put all the software you need on the ansible controller and > then put a web server on the ansible box too. [ansible-project] Using ansible to manage windows 10 vm software applications with no Internet Access
Hi everyone I've been asked to look into using ansible to manage all the software on our windows10 vm farm. Here's the kicker, neither the windows VM's OR the ansible server will have internet access. I have no idea where to start with this one, I've seen some posts about chocolatey, but really uncertain how this would work with no internet access. I'm guessing I'd have to copy all the objects I need to install software onto the internal ansible machine, and then relate to that area somehow instead of the internet? Also, not really sure how I'm going to keep software up to date. Any links, tips, articles or advice is very welcomed here, I'm just at the beginning of this particular journey. [ansible-project] Ansible Galaxy
Hello everyone I'm just starting my ansible journey, so please bear with me. I'm looking at ansible galaxy, but all the roles I seem to be finding only have one customer rating at most, and none of them have any ansible ratings. https://galaxy.ansible.com I'm probably searching incorrectly, but it does look like the take up of this site isn't great. Could someone tell me if I'm searching incorrectly or is this the case? I realise it's new, but its such a good idea I thought people would be raring to use it. Any help, greatly appreciated.
