Re: [Apertium-stuff] Getting Started

2020-12-13 Thread Jonathan Washington
Hi Subham,

I should note there are other ways to contribute to Apertium besides
through language pairs:
https://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Contributing

You can also check out open issues on any Apertium github repo, and offer
your assistance in fixing the issur:

Re: [Apertium-stuff] From "German" to "English" not possible?

2020-12-13 Thread Hèctor Alòs i Font
beta.apertium.org is correctly translating web pages (e.g.
https://beta.apertium.org/index.frp.html?dir=ita-srd&qP=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.repubblica.it%2F#webpageTranslation
). I guess, the problem is that the English-German pair in Apertium is
little developed.

I'm not quite sure whether beta.apertium.org even supports webpage
translation. The translator itself works. Well, sort of.

Hi Benedikt

thank you

The language is listed, but I get the error "Translation not yet
available!". I waited a few minutes and still the same state.

the site I wish to translate: https://github.com/hoppscotch/hoppscotch

Is this known?

There is no released language pair for translation between English and
German.
There is an unreleased pair, though.
It is available on beta.apertium.org.

[Apertium-stuff] English to Hindi/Bengali and vice versa

2020-12-13 Thread Atreya Majumdar
Hi!
I was going through the list of available language pair packages in the
Apertium Language Pair wiki, and I noticed that there was a lack of Indian
languages there. If there are no current projects, is it possible for me to
start contributing by adding English-Bengali (Bidirectional) and
English-Hindi(Bidirectional) support?
How do I get started in doing so? And what is the tech stack/ NLP model
architecture that is generally used at Apertium?

Yours Sincerely,
Atreya Majumdar.
