Subject: Fwd: "Smart" Meter/Tower T-day is Today, 5:30 pm in Worcester MA

Please forward.

The Worcester Zoning Board is poised to approve the 12th of 12 permanent data
base
stations/towers for the National Grid 'smart' meter/grid pilot/experiment today.

Worcester's (very) questionable, precedent setting interpretation/application
for pilot data
towers of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 effectively, by design gags
residents. TCA'96
was passed specifically for telecommunications providers - NOT for utility
industry data
networks that residents cannot access.

Smart meter/grid Tower Day is today: December 2, 5:30 pm, Zoning Board hearing,
Worcester
City Hall, 3rd Floor.

The cost, security, safety, fire, health, and choice concerns are not a
Not-In-My-Backyard
issue. The next tower could be 70' from your home:

     Base Stations/towers WiMax Antennas
      National Grid/DPUPilot 12* 242*
      Worcester Deployment** 63 1,269
National Grid Mass. Territory** 940 18,957
      Commonwealth Deployment** 2,018 40,695

*Real pilot numbers
** Extrapolated using 'household' U.S. census data

As of this morning, no request for postponement has been submitted to the city.
Both the
Tory Fort Lane/Cooks Pond and 597 Mill Street pilot data towers are on the
agenda.

The hearing outcome will effect not only all of Worcester but the state of
Massachusetts,
and beyond.

If you are a Worcester resident, please contact/invite your City Councilor, rep
and Senators
Chandler and Moore.

See you later (at 5:29)!

Thank you.
