AFAIK the maintainer is active (he's pushed packages as recently as the
14th) — but pacman depends on libarchive for most of what it does, thus
I imagine everyone is being extra-careful about making sure it works
before a new version hits [core].

Re: [arch-general] replace m$ for exclusive archlinux

2016-05-23 Thread Noah Schoem
See the Arch wiki beginner's guide
for installation
instructions. If you're looking to remove microsoft from your laptop, I
would recommend deleting all of the partitions on the hard drive.
Details on how to do that, and more information on the disk utility that
comes on the Arch iso, are available at the wiki's page on parted
.

Assuming you've already backed up your data properly, the Beginners' Guide
[1] should definitely help you out.

No idea. They don't respond to my attempts to contact them and the
error message doesn't tell what is actually going on. Given they accept
something like 1 mail per month from us right now I doubt they will
even notice our DKIM sigs.

PS: You might want to trim your signature a bit. It's kind of long.

Nevermind, I obviously didn't search the bug database enough:

[arch-general] Kick vtk6 to rebuild?

2016-05-23 Thread Elvis Stansvik
Hi folks,

The vtk6 package in [community] (unmaintained) currently has Python
extensions which link against libhdf5.so.10 (for example
/opt/vtk6/lib/python2.7/site-packages/vtk/vtkIOAMRPython.so). The
package should have had a dependency on hdf5.

The hdf5 library has had a so version bump since vtk6 was built
(libhdf5.so.10 -> libhdf5.so.100). Would it be possible to just give
the vtk6 package a kick it to rebuild, so that the package in
[community] can keep working for a little longer? It'll probably work
fine if it's just re-built.

I unfortunately don't have time to take over the maintainership of the
aging vtk6. But if it's possible to just trigger a rebuild, that would
be great.

Thanks in advance,
Elvis

Our provider fixed some issues and now the key in the DNS seems to be
fine. I managed to verify a test message, but it may take some time
until all DNS servers are up to date.
