Yes, although, things are still not fully defined for everthing. I would say,
however, that anything under https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux can be
considered
the de facto upstream for those projects as of now.

It doesn't mean that mirroring always will be done, or that in some instances
that the
mirroring won't be done in the opposite direction (ie, from gitlab to github).
Things are
still evolving.

Hi. This machine is from 2019. I am guessing there is a way to get the version
of Pac-Man on that system. I was unable to get orca to read the file. To give
you an idea of how old this system is, the nano is 4.4 something.

The reason being that git.archlinux.org is being decommissioned at some point
in the future. As of now, the repositories on git.archlinux.org are still being
synced, but I expect that not to be the case soon.

The SKS pools are not in good shape right now. Should work fine using the
ubuntu keyserver.

You should be able to update the archlinux-keyring package then update the
system. If it's old enough that it doesn't have the key for archlinux-keyring,
it's not going to have pacman 5.2 and won't be able to successfully update
anyway. The hooks in current packages require pacman 5.2.

Good morning all,

I am wondering if anyone is having problems refreshing PGP keys from the
default server? I can force it to use the ipv4 server, but using mate-terminal
with orca I am unable to edit the /etc/pacman.d/gnu/pgp.conf file to change the
server. Orca will not read it and plume will not open it with sudo rites. Any
ideas on this one? This is an older arch vm which will not update till the PGP
keys have been updated and imported. I do not have speech in a conc so that
would not work. Thanks.

This is correct. The polybar developers are aware of this, too, but it still
needs to be fixed.

In other words, if no TUs are interested in maintaining it as a community
package, then no amount of popularity will get it into community.

Polybar requires optional modules to be already installed before you compile
it. Once built with those, it won't run without those dependencies installed.

So to have a pre-compiled version you would need to either force-install every
optional dependency with the Arch package (no longer 'optional', and kills
extendability), or make decisions on which features to include/exclude (no
longer 'customisable').

Unless this changes I don't see that polybar is compatible with Arch
packaging. However, the AUR is an ideal place for it.

Dear all,
i am using i3 wm with Polybar as my status bar. i created the currently
installed packages list using pacman's hook command.
when i try to do fresh installation, i can get only the packages that are
present in official Repos that doesnot include Polybar.
Then after installing Yay i can get Polybar from AUR. it is quite
inconvenience, and i dont know why Polybar is not added to official
packages,

Polybar is quite popular as well as it has quite good features.

is is possible to include Polybar to the official packages under extra or
community? if not could u plz explain?

Thanks in advance
