I can confirm, this instructions work for me. Only thing i can add - i
also need to move /lib/modules away (backup) before

I found nice workaround, when i try to debug problem with krunner,
kscreensaver, etc..

Next steps solve this problem without downgrading to previous version
of Qt:

1. Sync abs tree from root
2. Go to /var/abs/extra/kdebase-workspace
3. Edit PKGBUILD and change:

-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release

to

-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug

4. Same for /var/abs/extra/kdelibs

5. Build and install both packages with 'pacman -U'

After this trick krunner, kscreensaver, and some other components of
KDE start working as expected.

[arch-general] Screen locking problem in KDE

Hello guys,

Please give me advice - how can i debug problem with screen locking in
KDE? I don't find any similar problems in arch forums/mailing lists.
This problem appeared after update.

Standart Ctrl+Alt+L doesn't work, plasma applet (screen lock) doesn't
work too.

a funny bug in the Xorg server that could allow attackers with physical
access to a machine to bypass the screensaver/screen locker program.
Most people use those programs to lock their computer when they are
away. On Gnome, gnome-screensaver is responsible for this. On KDE,
kscreenlocker is. There is a wide variety of smaller tools doing the
same thing, e.g. slock, slimlock, i3lock...

I want to get a report from someone that an installation went fine.
what kind of install doesn't really matter. manual, automatic,
autoprepare, net/core whatever. this has been tested enough before, so
any kind of install with each single image.


On top of that, I want:
A) confirmation for virtio_pci and virtio_blk on the install ISO's
initramfs  http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/19401?project=6
B) at least one installation performed from a usb stick, using any of
the above images.


So if you test: send a reply mentioning which file you tested, and
optionally if you can confirm A/B
