Now with linux-3.2-2 the messages are different:

[7.790647] iTCO_wdt: Intel TCO WatchDog Timer Driver v1.07
[7.790730] iTCO_wdt: Found a QM57 TCO device (Version=2, TCOBASE=0x0460)
[7.790747] iTCO_wdt: cannot register miscdev on minor=130 (err=-16)
[7.790833] iTCO_wdt: probe of iTCO_wdt failed with error -16

I also found a thread in the forums about that:

With 3.2 I get the following messages while booting:

[7.875726] watchdog: INTCAMT: cannot register miscdev on minor=130
(err=-16).
[7.875821] watchdog: error registering /dev/watchdog (err=-16).
[7.875877] mei: unable to register watchdog device.

I don't understand them, so I don't know if they are critical (haven't noticed
any problems yet).

Thanks for the link, looks like it is nothing to worry about.

I get the following message displayed right before the initscripts output:

[2.117965] [drm:ironlake_update_pch_refclk] *ERROR* enabling SSC on PCH

So far I have no problems, but this message seems important.

[arch-general] Amarok fails to start after upgrade

2011-06-27 Thread Dominik Cermak
Hi list,
after upgrading amarok today I get following error after trying to start
it:

Amarok could not find any collection plugins. It is possible that Amarok
is installed under the wrong prefix, please fix your installation using:
$ cd /path/to/amarok/source-code/
$ su -c "make uninstall"
$ cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix` && su -c "make
install"
$ kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental
$ amarok
More information can be found in the README file. For further assistance
join us at #amarok on irc.freenode.net.

Can anyone confirm this? Is this one considered a packaging bug?

Greetings Dominik

Sorry, didn't search the bug tracker.

[arch-general] File conflict between pyqt & python2-qt

2011-05-06 Thread Dominik Cermak
Hi list,

there seems to be a file conflict between the two packages pyqt and
python2-qt

python2-qt is flagged out of date, so will this be solved once the
package is updated or is this a bug?

Greetings Dominik
