Install compiz-decorator-gtk to be able to use metacity styles. Oh, and the easiest way to select it is to use a menu in fusion-icon ;) Thanks. That fixed the metacity styles issue.
[arch-general] compiz-fusion with gnome
Hi. I installed compiz-fusion to my gnome desktop and now I have two problems with it. First: no shadows around windows or panels (tweaked the window manager section under compiz control panel, but it didn't work). Secondly, the performance is very bad although games (e.g. urban terror) run fairly good. Also it seems that there is no option to use metacity styles (under ubuntu you can still use the same themes if I'm not mistaken). Just to mention, few days ago I had problems with compositing and openGL (I wrote a letter to the mailinglist), but after reinstalling and using nvidia-xconfig --composite option (no --add-argb-visuals any more on newer nvidia cards), the problem got fixed. So anyone having the same problem or know how to help, please let me know. Verner
Re: [arch-general] Problem with compositing and openGL.
Thanks for answering, Didi. Well, I'm not on my computer right now, but I'm quite sure, that direct rendering is on. My real question is, might it be issue with 64 bit system? Should I'll try to install i686 and try to get it working there or it doesn't matter at all? Didi wrote: Just a shot in the dark. Is direct rendering on? glxinfo | grep rendering Note : You can still run glxgears without 3d rendering. Could you give more information on the error please. But at the same time I gan run simple 3D applications like glxgears. Also Nvidia driver starts correctly on startup (logo comes up) and compositing is enabled in xorg.conf. So any ideas on my problem? Might it be a 64 bit system issue? Just to add, under Ubuntu compiz and games worked just fine. Thanks, Verner.
