[arch-general] Ghost / Daniel Griffiths packages in [community]

2011-02-15 Thread Jelle van der Waa
Sadly Ghost resigned as TU, he has done a good job and I thank him again
for all his hard work.

But there are still much packages left in [community] which he owns,
therefore I like to see these packages adopted or moved to
[unsupported] .

Here is a link with all his packages, i already adopted some but he is
also still listed as maintainer there.
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sort=arch=repo=q=maintainer=dgriffithslast_update=flagged=limit=all

Btw, shouldn't his account be removed?

greetings,

greetings,

i'm not going to deactivate his account until he disown all the packages.

i'm not sure if archweb supports it, but it would be cool to
automatically disown all the account packages when deactivating. I have
to talk with Dan about this.

He own a lot of package. I hope too TUs will adopt them, and they will
not fall in AUR.

I applaud his work. Good road!

 greetings,

Hm, he is still listed as developer in the list
http://www.archlinux.org/developers/
so he in theory is still allowed to maintain packages in [community].

Maybe he should drop a note here.

Regards Stefan

Ok Stefan, Ghost resigned, 'cause he wasn't much free time, I think is
kinda annoying disturb him asking for more explanations.

I think the point in discussion is, the fact that archweb should drop
the packages of a Dev/TU at the moment to move it to 'fellows' section
right?, I will try to code a patch, if Dan doesn't make it first :P.

Cheers

I'd like to adopt scribus, but the Web interface seems to answer
randomly at my clicks.

Ok np,

Btw i want to make clear that I didn't start this thread to insult or
make Ghost look bad. I wanted to let other TU's adopt some of his
packages so they are kept up to date.
