Thanks a lot for your reply,

Unfortunately, that is not working. Have found a bug in the Kernel (from
another email here) that behaves in a similar way. Maybe having the same
 issue (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58351).

Also, I think it is an Alsa issue. I disabled PulseAudio and the audio is
 still not working through Alsa.

I am the submitter of that kernel bug. I am having Intel sound card and the
problem only happened after upgrading to 3.9 kernel.

That problem is in fact initialization failure for Conexant codec. Does your
sound card use Conexant codec, too?

You may get everything needed for troubleshooting by looking at [1] for
alsa-info.sh scripts. Run it with --no-upload. If your sound works in 3.8
kernel, run it in both 3.8 and 3.9 kernel. That is useful if you really
decide to submit a bug report or just wonder whether your problem is the
same as mine.

Hope to get your problem solved.

[arch-general] Sound broken, using pulse audio

2013-05-17 Thread Carlos Alegria Galicia
Hi all,

After the last kernel upgrade, my sound is not working after weaking up
from hibernate.

The device PulseAudio is shown in alsamixer, PulseAudio is up and
running, the channels are shown in pavucontrol and even the level sound bar
is showing the audio levels, but there is no sound.

Everything works after shutting down - starting up again my system (not
even using restart). I am using systemd to hibernate / restart my laptop.

Thanks in advance,

A quick google search suggests you are fix that by restarting the pulse
audio daemon.
Try this in a terminal window:
pulseaudio -k
pulseaudio -D
