WIN-HOME-REQUEST: confirmation required (262753EA)

2007-01-09 Thread PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM LISTSERV Server (15.0)
To cut down on spam, the WIN-HOME list has been configured to request positive
confirmation of messages posted to the WIN-HOME-request address. You must now
confirm that the enclosed message did originate from you. To do so, simply
reply to the present message and type "OK" (without the quotes) in the text of
your message, or click on the link below. If this does not work, or if the
message did NOT originate from you, then contact the list owner for assistance.

Your subscription to the WIN-HOME list (Windows Home/SOHO) has been
accepted.

* NOTICE * DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE WITH LISTSERV COMMANDS. Please
read this message carefully for instructions on how to send commands to
LISTSERV. Thank you.

Please save this message for future reference, especially if you are not
familiar with LISTSERV. This might look like a waste of disk space now,
but in 2 months you will be glad you saved this information when you
realize that you cannot remember what are the lists you are subscribed
to, or what is the command to leave the list to avoid filling up your
mailbox while you are on vacations.

In fact, you should create a new mail folder for subscription
confirmation messages like this one, and for the "welcome messages" from
the list owners that you will occasionally receive after subscribing to a
new list.

To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to the list,
just send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is called "sending
mail to the list", because you send mail to a single address and LISTSERV
makes copies for all the people who have subscribed. This address
(WIN-HOME@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM) is also called the "list address". You
must never try to send any command to that address, as it would be
distributed to all the people who have subscribed. All commands must be
sent to the "LISTSERV address", [EMAIL PROTECTED] It is very
important to understand the difference between the two, but fortunately
it is not complicated. The LISTSERV address is like a FAX number, and the
list address is like a normal phone line. If you make your FAX call
someone's regular phone number by mistake, it will be an unpleasant
experience for him but you will probably be excused the first time. If
you do it regularly, however, he will probably get upset and send you a
nasty complaint. It is the same with mailing lists, with the difference
that you are calling hundreds or thousands of people at the same time, so
a lot more people get annoyed if you use the wrong number.

The list is set up so that by default you get a short acknowledgement
message for your own postings but do not receive copies of your own
posts. If you want to receive copies of your own posts, send a "SET
WIN-HOME REPRO NOACK" command to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF WIN-HOME"
command to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can also tell LISTSERV how
you want it to confirm the receipt of messages you send to the list. If
you do not trust the system, send a "SET WIN-HOME REPRO" command and
LISTSERV will send you a copy of your own messages, so that you can see
that the message was distributed and did not get damaged on the way.
After a while you may find that this is getting annoying, especially if
your mail program does not tell you that the message is from you when it
informs you that new mail has arrived from WIN-HOME. If you send a "SET
WIN-HOME ACK NOREPRO" command, LISTSERV will mail you a short
acknowledgement instead, which will look different in your mailbox
directory. With most mail programs you will know immediately that this is
an acknowledgement you can read later. Finally, you can turn off
acknowledgements completely with "SET WIN-HOME NOACK NOREPRO".

Following instructions from the list owner, your subscription options
have been set to "NOACK REPRO NOMIME REVIEW CONCEAL" rather than the
usual LISTSERV defaults. For more information about subscription options,
send a "QUERY WIN-HOME" command to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Contributions sent to this list are automatically archived. You can get a
list of the available archive files by sending an "INDEX WIN-HOME"
command to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can then order these files
with a "GET WIN-HOME LOG" command, or using LISTSERV's database
search facilities. Send an "INFO DATABASE" command for more information
on the latter.

More information on LISTSERV commands can be found in the LISTSERV
reference card, which you can retrieve by sending an "INFO REFCARD"
command to [EMAIL PROTECTED], or in the General User's Manual
for LISTSERV, which is available at the World Wide Web URL

 http://www.lsoft.com/manuals/index.html

If you should ever need to contact the list owners, you can write to the
generic address [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Command confirmation request (A04CBFBB)

2007-01-08 Thread PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM LISTSERV Server (15.0)
Your command:

  SUBSCRIBE WIN-HOME Anonymous

has been received. You must now reply to this message (as explained
below) to complete your subscription. The purpose of this confirmation
procedure is to make sure that you have indeed requested to be added to
the list.

To confirm the execution of your command, simply point your browser to
the following URL:

http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/scripts/wa.exe?OK=A04CBFBB&L=WIN-HOME

Alternatively, if you have no WWW access, you can reply to the present
message and type "ok" (without the quotes) as the text of your message.
Just the word "ok" - do not retype the command. This procedure will work
with any mail program that fully conforms to the Internet standards for
electronic mail. If you receive an error message, try sending a new
message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (without using the "reply"
function - this is very important) and type "ok A04CBFBB" as the text of
your message.

Finally, your command will be cancelled automatically if LISTSERV does
not receive your confirmation within 48. After that time, you must start
over and resend the command to get a new confirmation code. If you change
your mind and decide that you do NOT want to confirm the command, simply
discard the present message and let the request expire on its own.

Unfortunately, the confirmation code could not be extracted from the headers
generated by your mail program. You will have to retype this code manually,
as explained in the confirmation request you were sent. If you have lost it,
then just send the command again to get a new confirmation code.

Command confirmation request cancelled (SUBSCRIBE)

2007-01-07 Thread PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM LISTSERV Server (15.0)
Your command:

  SUBSCRIBE WIN-HOME Anonymous

has remained unconfirmed for more than 48h and is being cancelled. If you
want it executed, but you're unable to send the confirmation in time,
then just re-issue the command to get a new confirmation code. The one
you were sent before can no longer be used.

Please type your name after the name of the list, as in: "SUBSCRIBE WIN-HOME
Joe H. Smith". Alternatively, if you want to subscribe anonymously, send the
command: "SUBSCRIBE WIN-HOME Anonymous". Your subscription will then be
hidden automatically.
