Hello,

We have our request button configured to send an e-mail to our Special
Collections reference desk, from which it’s easier to pipe the requests into
our reference tracking system (we use LibAnswers). I’d say for every actual
reference question we get through that link, we get another four or five spam
e-mails. That may be because we haven’t been actively marketing the PUI to
students and researchers yet, so more robots know about the PUI than people. -k

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] PUI request button - are you using it? if
so, how?

Hi all,

I’ve been getting questions here and there about how people are setting up and
using the Request functionality in the ArchivesSpace public interface. Since
this is more on the individual institution implementation side of things, I’d
like to put the question out to the group. Are you using it? Have you
customized it at all? Do you link out to a shared organizational email smtp or
sendmail server from your ArchivesSpace server or install that functionality on
the ArchivesSpace server itself?

(And if you’re not using the ArchivesSpace request functionality itself, but
linking/integrating to something else that performs that function, I’m sure
that would be of interest too.)

Thanks in advance,

Christine
