[ARIE-L] Last chance to complete ejournal article sharing practices questionnaire

2012-01-03 Thread Karen Okamoto
Dear ILL community,

This is the final opportunity to complete a 5-7 minute questionnaire on your
institution's ejournal article sharing practices. If you are interested in
participating in this study, please find further details below. To complete the
questionnaire, please visit: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ILL_ejournals. I
welcome one respondent per institution.

Last fall 2011, I had circulated a similar questionnaire on ejournal article
sharing practices. I would like to thank everyone who participated. Based on
the responses I received, I decided to modify the questionnaire to obtain more
information from you. I would greatly appreciate your feedback again on
ejournal article sharing practices at your institution. Do you supply ejournal
articles? How do you keep track of your licenses?

Thank you for your time and interest!
Karen
__

You are invited to participate in a research study entitled “Electronic journal
articles and resource sharing.” The purpose of this study is to examine
electronic journal article sharing practices and issues across libraries.
Approximately one hundred participants are expected to respond. If you decide
to participate, you will be asked to answer questions on resource sharing
practices at your institution. The results and analyses will be submitted to a
library journal for publication.

Participation should take less than 7 minutes. The foreseeable risks of
participation are minimal. In order to minimize these risks your responses will
kept anonymous and they will not be linked or traced back to you. IP addresses
will not be collected or stored. The possible benefits to you and the resource
sharing community include an increased understanding of effective electronic
journal article sharing practices. Your participation is completely voluntary.
You have a right to refuse to participate without repercussion. If you decide
not to participate your decision will not affect your relationship with John
Jay College or your place of employment.

If you decide to participate you may discontinue participation at any time. You
may refuse to answer any specific questions. Withdrawal or refusing to answer
specific questions will not result in any consequences to you and will not
affect your relationship with John Jay College or your place of employment.
Information gathered from you will be examined by the Principal Investigator
(PI) only. Data will be stored securely online under the PI's
password-protected account.

Your willingness to answer questions on this electronic questionnaire means
that you have read this consent form, that you fully understand the nature and
consequences of participation and that you have had all questions regarding
participation in this study answered satisfactorily. If you have further
questions about this research please feel free to contact the Principal
Investigator, Karen Okamoto at kokam...@jjay.cuny.edu or 646-557-4777. If you
have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant please feel

[ARIE-L] Last chance: Questionnaire on sharing ejournal articles

2011-10-13 Thread Karen Okamoto
Dear colleagues,

I would like to thank those of you who have already completed the questionnaire
on resource sharing and ejournal articles.

If your institution has not participated in this study, please find an
invitation to do so below. The questionnaire will close after Friday October
21st.
Thank you for your time and interest.
Karen

Dear Interlibrary Loan Community,

You are invited to participate in a research study on electronic journal
articles and resource sharing. The purpose of this research is to survey
interlibrary loan ( ILL) operations to identify the extent to which libraries
are sharing electronic journal articles and the factors that facilitate or
hinder this sharing. I plan to enroll approximately 100 participants.
Participation in this survey should take less than 7 minutes.

Your participation is completely voluntary and information gathered from you
will be kept anonymous. Your responses will not be linked to you or your
institution. Findings from this study will report on the extent of electronic
journal article sharing in the ILL community and the innovative practices at
various sites that facilitate this sharing. You are not required to answer all
the questions, but the more information you can provide, the more beneficial
this will be to the ILL community. Your participation is appreciated!

details about the study, please click here:

[ARIE-L] Odyssey mini-survey for ILLiad libraries

2011-02-01 Thread Karen Okamoto
Dear ILLiad users,

You are invited to participate in an Odyssey mini-survey for ILLiad libraries.
We are interested in gaining insight into how ILLiad libraries are using (or
not using) the Odyssey electronic document delivery module. Of particular
interest are those libraries who have ILLiad, but are not using Odyssey or
those libraries who use Odyssey only to send or receive. We are in no way
affiliated with Atlas Systems, but your responses may enable Atlas and others
to improve Odyssey so that it continues to develop along with changing user
needs.

Please fill out this survey only if you use ILLiad. The survey should take less
than 5 minutes to complete.
