[fedora-arm] u-boot plans for Fedora 22 ?

2015-01-14 Thread Hans de Goede

Hi All,

I assume that we will be rebasing u-boot to the just released v2015.01
for F-22? But I was wondering if there is any chance we can jump to
v2015.04 ? The reason I'm asking is that things are progressing
quite rapidly on the u-boot side, at least with Allwinner SoC support,
I've just send a pull-req for v2015.04 with the following highlights:

1) Improved sun6i (A31) support, including support for the A31s variant and
automatic assignment of a SoC serial based MAC address for ethernet
2) Full sun8i (A23) support including DRAM controller init and SPL, so now
people can boot these boards using a full FOSS solution
3) Many improvement to the graphical console support, automatic selection
of the native mode for HDMI/DVI monitors via DDC + EDID, LCD panel support,
   VGA output support
4) Preparation work for OTG controller support, together with 3) this allows
using
u-boot on tablets effortlessly. The rest of the OTG support is going upstream
   through the usb tree

And if possible I would like to see this end up in Fedora 22 :)

Regards,

Hans

Given 2015.01 is already built for F-22 I think that would be a safe
bet ;-). 2015.04 is a possibility and not certain yet, will be much
easier to tell once that make it to rc1, I've been watching the
mailing list and we're aware of things being proposed. It depends on
how much other fall out there is between now and release candidate
stage.

[fedora-arm] testing Fedora-Minimal-armhfp-rawhide-20150110-sda.raw.xz

2015-01-14 Thread Robert Moskowitz
I have finally squeezed some time in to run a test on a Cubieboard2. I
will be doing more testing over the next couple weeks. I hope.

This rawhide minimal is not prompting me during first boot for root
passward, timezone, adduser. Not added yet?

No longer have to modify boot for the 'console' option. That is working
nicely.

I plugged in the ethernet cable a while after logging in and it took
some time to gain IP addressing. I am use to ifdown eth0;ifup eth0. Of
course with no config file, these do not work. What do I use instead to
give in this case dhcp a kick to get IP addresses?

I see it comes with the 3.19 kernel. What uboot, per Hans' lastest
email? Obviously I would like to test out video support. I will be
able to do some of the 3.19 kernel testing once I get a few things up
and working.

As I am away until friday, and did not bring an HDMI cable with me to
connect to the room TV, I will probably not be doing much else testing
until friday.

thanks for all your work.

[fedora-arm] Possible BUG in freeradius ARM

2015-01-14 Thread mo.ucina

Hello Guys,

I have freeradius-3.0.4-3.fc21.armv7hl failing to start , with this fault :

root@BPi-R1 /etc/raddb # rpm -qa freeradius*
freeradius-utils-3.0.4-3.fc21.armv7hl
freeradius-3.0.4-3.fc21.armv7hl
root@BPi-R1 /etc/raddb # radiusd -X
libssl version mismatch. built: 100010af linked: 100010bf

Looks like https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1173821 , which
was picked up on x86_64 platform . Latest comment says :

freeradius-3.0.4-3.fc21 has been pushed to the Fedora 21 stable repository.
If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.

Since users report this is working in x86_64 now , we may have an ARM
specific issue here .

Best Regards

Milorad

Re: [fedora-arm] Banana Pi R1 on fedora 21 - all working

2015-01-14 Thread mo.ucina

Hello Guys,

Just to give you a bit of an update on my BananaPi R1 project . All is
working well as far as the config is concerned, now it is time for it to
be put into service .

To get it up to this far , included the following :

- Compiling kernel with OpenWrt source for b53 switch
- Compiling 'swconfig' user-space program to control the switch
- Configuring the WAN and LAN ports

 Here is my kernel :
root@BPi-R1 ~ # rpm -qa kernel
kernel-3.17.4-301.fc21.armv7hl
kernel-3.18.1-2.BPiR1.fc21.armv7hl
root@BPi-R1 ~ # uname -a

14:12:35 AEDT 2015 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux

Since I was going to compile one , I thought might as well go with 3.18
. Here is the ifconfig and eth part of the dmesg :

root@BPi-R1 ~ # dmesg | egrep -i '(eth|b53)'

Here is what the switch looks like , it is an 8 port switch , with port

disconnected like this :

Interesting can we get a diff against fedora kernel git to rebuild
independently ?

  thanks,

Daniel
