Varalaru creates Varalaru
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
January 29, 2007
This news is sponsored by www.behindbikes.com
http://www.behindbikes.com/

In the dream factory, a
movie running for more than
one hundred days is surely
an accomplishment of a highest
order. It is the result of a hard
labor from an entire team. Kollywood
had an impressive line up of seven
movies for the festive season of Diwali
this year.
  [Varalaru]
http://www.behindwoods.com/features/Gallery/movies/movies8/god-father/i\
ndex.html

Out of this, four films have achieved this spectacular
feat of crossing the one hundred day mark. They
are Ajith’s Varalaru, Jeeva’s E, Simbu’s
Vallavan and Sarathkumar’s Thalaimagan.

Varalaru stands out from the rest of the films
in scaling the centenary mark in more than 25
theatres. It is expected that this film would
continue its winning streak for some more time.
E is in a close second position running in 20
theatres followed by Vallavan in a few theatres.

Varalaru provided Ajith with the much required
break. His acting histrionics was very well appreciated
by one and all and proved to be a bench mark for
this talented actor.

15 shows were being shown in the Mumbai multiplexes but the crowds
continued to surge.

In the first week, the Hindi and Tamil versions made a cool 16 crores on
national level.

This is a record in Indian film history. At the end of the 2nd week,
only the Hindi version made 22 crores. Including Tamil would make it 29

In England and UK, the film is doing great business. No other Indian

In both these place, 'Guru' made 10 crores in 10 days. It is expected to
do continued business. No other Indian film has done so well with an
opening collection outside India.

After 'Guru,' Vijay's 'Pokkiri' and Ajith's 'Azhwar' are next in line of
successful films!

[arr] Rahmania Pune [Update]

2007-01-30 Thread Amith Chandhran

I'm glad to announce officially that the leading Marathi daily Lokasatta,
[of The Indian Express Group] has joined TWS as their media partners.

The residential editor of Lokasatta, Mr. Mukund Sangoram, happens to be a
self-proclaimed huge fan of AR, (also one of the silent members here!) and I
remember when I and Anmol Bhave had met him 2 weeks ago, we had a great and
memorable discussion with him on AR's philosophy and music.

Marathi knowing fans would remember that Mr. Sangoram has written number of
articles on AR and his music in various magazines, papers etc. [The last 2, 8th

shared with the group.]

Lokasatta will cover all the 3 events, will provide their reviews on the
performance, and will have the advertisements of Rahmania thru the daily
newspaper.

Thanks to Sangoram sir.

[arr] Hindi Sanjay Ramaswamy

2007-01-30 Thread aboonidhal
AR Murugadoss is directing Sanjay Ramaswamy again in April. That role
is being played by none other than our Bollywood hero Aamir Khan!
Having seen the original version 'Memento' as well as 'Ghajini,' Aamir
seems to have been greatly impressed by the latter. In the Hindi
version, Murugadoss has made many changes. There's a scene where Aamir
speaks Tamil in one of the scenes.
For the heroine's role, Aishwarya Rai to Asin were considered, but
luck seems to have favored Ayesha Takia and Priyanka Chopra. Ayesha
Takia will do Asin's role and Priyanka will do Nayantara's role.
Music is by AR Rehman. This is the first time he is composing music
for a Murugadoss film. Camera is by Ravi K Chandran. This is the first
time they are teaming up together. Stunts are by Kanal Kannan.
North Indian artistes will be working under South Indian technicians.
We wish the film does fabulously well on a national scale!
