Hariharan is a fantastic singer. He should be getting more credit in

Hi All,

Gautam (in a recent interview) has agreed that he is a BIG fan of IR
but since he vibes well with HJ, sees no reason for a change.

Even in case he decides to move out of HJ, I feel he will go to IR and
not to ARR unless absolutely necessary (Like for example he is
offered a Hindi film or something).

But one director who can do wonders with ARR is DHARANI. He is the one
who made films like DHOOL, DHIL, & GILLY (All with Vidyasagar). Songs
in all these films were super-duper hits and the films were
blockbusters at the BO..!

Thanks.
Chandra.

I don't remember exactly, but it should be internet only. Short clip. I
agree with Mirza, lyrics writing is different from person to person.. Its
doesn't make much difference to many people, when it comes to AR's songs.
All in all, Its a catchy tune.. And the lyrics works pretty well with it..

The song is based on the poem originally written by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The
English lyrics of the song are written by George Peter sir (Roo Ba Roo
fame), and the Hindi lyrics are written by Mehboob.

George Peter sir has done the vocal arrangements and has also trained the
children.

Raghu, its true these gems should release. They shouldn't go waste. Hope
they release.

[arr] Arr making illayaraja sing for him

2007-02-18 Thread anishshreya
Dear Guys,

Don't u think its time for our boss to pick maestreo illayaraja for one
of his songs? I guess it will be a big tribute to the legend who once
our boss worked for. But i am not sure whether ego within illayaraja
will let this happen. I guess Yuvan had taken the initiative to feature
our boss...so why not our boss invite raja too? It will be great for
the music of flimdom and all tamilians.Hmm...maybe why not even in a
non-flim album? Boss hope u are listening...:)

the 12th Feb'07 then on the 15th Feb'07 had a great opportunity to
perform in front of the Army personnel and their families for the 96th

forthcoming concert details in the front page top corner and you can

[arr] Re: RAHMANIA Concept in Other cities !!! FRIENDS UNITE !!!!!!

2007-02-18 Thread amit goel
I was one of the thousands of lucky ppl to attend Rahmania, and was
impressed by the devotion, skill and adventure of these Punelads. It
was amazing. This was perhasps ONE occasion when the group attempted
what even Rahman seldom does- and that is the rendition of the Bombay
Theme. I was touched by the remarks and introduction, for what else
could have been more secular ever ? But i did feel that the Theme
needs much more , like, in a roaring audience who prefers the Rahman
Vocals (whetevr ppl may say abt the purity, language being a negative,
etc) the Theme was far too serious a subject to be proffered at the
platform.

This music of the theme is religon, so, i will make a humble
suggestion that this be kept out of future performances.

[arr] Re: RAHMANIA Pune - comment about Bombay theme !!!!

2007-02-18 Thread Dinesh Vaidya
Dear Amit Goel

THANK YOU for your encouraging words about recent performance of The
Wandering Souls. This pat-on-the-back, will help the group to continue
on their mission to take RAHMAN's music and message to the like-minded
persons.

Also noted your suggestion on "not playing Bombay Theme". However,
personally I will differ with your views on BOMBAY THEME. I find this
theme is the healing sound which may emanate from the churning of the
horrors of fights over various divides. This group has played Bombay
theme everytime they performed on stage and each time the members from
audiance have come forward and informed us the emotional effect this
theme had on them and the changes they felt the theme brought within
them.

For me, Bombay Theme is the very core of RAHMAN's music. Emotional, and
touching as you rightly said

I personally do not want the group to stop playing the Bombay theme
unless we find staring at dead end on the instrumentation or live
artist front. The group has MASTERED the theme very well and is one of
the highlights of the programme. Nevertheless, the decision is
entirely of TWS group and your suggestion will be passed on to the
group chiefs.

Best regards
Dinesh Vaidya
