[arr] Yodha flute piece

2007-07-17 Thread kansis_unplugged
Hello Everyone !
I would really appreciate if anyone could post or send me a link of the flute
piece in Yodha.
Also, I have felt a strange resemblance of the starting 10 seconds of the song
Sahara Pookal
to this. Maybe its just me, but i did notice some similarity.

Anyways, thanks alot
Rohit

[arr] Lata M on ARR

2007-07-17 Thread Gopal Srinivasan
Rajeev Masand: In the 90s you
also worked with AR Rahman in movies like Dil Se, Lagaan and One Two Ka
Four. What do you think of Rahman as a composer, who is a modern
musician and composes his music on computers. You adjusted with his
style?

Lata Mangeshkar: Yes absolutely.
Working with him is like a whole new experience. Whenever I have gone
to his place he always tells me sing the way I want to. So, whatever I
sing, he starts recording it and later when he edits it, it's a great
piece of work.

[arr] Goutham Menon & ARR...????

2007-07-17 Thread Guy Harish
A quick meal from GouthamIndiaGlitz [Tuesday, July 17, 2007]
Goutham Vasudeva Menon has put on hold his Varanam Aayiram.
However he has planned to come up with a film before re-commencing the shooting
for Varanam Aayiram.
Rumours are abuzz that Goutham Menon has signed Trisha for the project which
would have newcomers in the cast along with her.
Goutham, who combined with Harris Jayaraj, to render several hit numbers, has
opted for A R Rehman to compose music for the movie.
To be produced by Goutham himself, the movie would kick off this August and
would be released this December.

[arr] More about ARR in forthcoming episode of "Ennodu Paatu Paaadungal"

2007-07-17 Thread Aravind AM

Hi All,

Continuing with the info about what spb spoke about ARR, here's more!! :)

I had the opportunity to be at the set during the shooting of one of the
episodes of "Ennodu Paatu Paadungal" (Jaya TV)... This episdoe is yet to be
aired.

In that episode, SPB again spoke about ARR. This time it was about
Ballelakka (Sivaji) song, after one person sand Ballelakka in that show.
He said he found it difficult to sing the song during recording as it was a
tough song and many portions were breathless... however, ARR sang it for
him, very very casually, just running his fingers thru his hair!! :) He
said, ARR makes anything look so easy! In the same episode, a veteran tamil
assistant music director (Pls pardon me, i forget his name) also spoke
highly of ARR. HE said, "there was a time when no indian song, especially
melodies, would be without tabla or dholak... there would be one odd song
with drums, but that was also rare... but ARR changed all that... he showed
that there can be melodies created without tablas and dholaks... he thought
differently and thus created a total change in the way indian film music was
made!"
