Mr Rees said that Sydney Festival is now Australia’s biggest annual cultural celebration and one of the best loved events in Sydney’s calendar. “I want this festival to grow as a celebration of our city while it continues to attract visitors from around Australia and the rest of the world,” Mr Rees said. “That’s why we will invest an additional $1.75 million into the popular Festival First Night. “Last year around 240,000 people took to the city’s streets and parks to see music and performances from all over the world.” Mr Rees said that the 2010 festival program will bring more events to Western Sydney than ever before. “This is the first time the Sydney Festival has boasted an exclusive Western Sydney program spanning Parramatta, Penrith and Campbelltown. “It’s great to see this year’s Festival reach out to the suburbs, streets and homes of Western Sydney.” Mr Rees said that the highlight of the Western Sydney program will be Oscar award-winning artist A.R. RE: [arr] EKAM SATHYAM--the mystery continues....
forget man. No one has heard it except those who were there live. I heard its just few chants with MJ's music in the background, nothin much. But ya, with his passing away it would have been good if they released it in 'This is it' CD. But if it was that cool a track and recorded, they would have released it. And if its lying somewhere unfinished in MJ's archives then don't worry its just a matter of time before its released. Apparently there are over 300 tracks in various stages of production in MJ's archives.Few only need to be mastered, so those will come first. I do believe strongly that Ekam Satyam will be there in Rahman's studio :). Insiders need to say yes or no thats all!! [arr] Spat between Abbas Tyrewala and Madhu Matena regarding 1-800-LOVE’s name
Abbas Tyrewala and Madhu Matena lock horns over ‘1-800-LOVE’ Spicezee Bureau Mumbai: The title of John Abraham starrer ‘1-800-LOVE’ has become a major bone of the contention between director Abbas Tyrewala and producer Madhu Matena, as both are constantly bickering over the name of the flick! While speaking on the latest director-producer spat to a news daily, a close source said, “Madhu Mantena is dissatisfied with the title and is adamant on changing it. He has had several arguments with the director and wants to change the title because he feels that the Indian audience will not be able to understand and connect to ‘1-800-LOVE.’ They have had their fair share of heated arguments in the past over locations too. Recently, at the film’s wrap-up party, Madhu walked out after another one of their tiffs over the title.” Lead actor John Abraham had to then smooth things out between the two. When enquired Madhu on the whole issue, the producer shared his grievances, “We rarely use toll free numbers in India. It is very important that the audience also connects to the film’s name for commercial success.” But isn’t it too late to realise this as the title 1-800-LOVE is already registered in people’s minds, we ask him. “We have ample amount of time to change and promote it, even though 1-800-LOVE has gained popularity. I love this film and Abbas too much to let this mistake happen.” However, Abbas had a different version to offer regarding the film’s current title as, “For the longest time, I wanted 1-800-LOVE as my title. But Madhu wants a different one now. As Madhu says, it does happen that people refer to it as ‘One thousand eight hundred love’, which is not what the film is about. But I thought people will understand it. Madhu and I had a conflict and I understand his point, but need something more convincing.” Nevertheless, despite the professional differences, both the director and producer share an amicable relationship as Madhu adds, “Abbas and I are very close friends and feel passionately about the film. We make it a point to show off our aggression. I am sure we’ll settle with a final title soon. And yes, on the other hand, John likes another title.” http://spicezee.zeenews.com/articles/story46140.htm
