The most special thing in the song is the second interlude a sheer delight.just listen it from 3:21 - 3:26 ah its magnificent , the girls have just touched the most beautiful notes and the rendition seems to be in classical music.SUPERB ! TOO GOOD. how brilliantly they say toum toum toum toum and the way they end it magical . i listening this part again n again . wow even after that the chorus continues in a beautiful rendition with hints of mridangam in background. the song is a fantasy , i will recommend everyone to listen it , and especially the second interlude. ARRAHMAN you are surely the pinncale of music. but you will say which song it is , its ALANKATTI MAZHAI from thenali , the movie and its music not much talked about . but this song is exceptional stuff . regards, taimur, karachi, PAKISTAN.

[arr] VTV Title song and Emmerson Lake and Palmer
Does anyone think that the VTV title song sung by Karthik is reminiscent of some of the music by the 1970s era rock group Emmerson, Lake, and Palmer? An American friend of mine heard VTV title song and Emmerson Lake and Palmer just came out of him. There's a song or 2 by ELP that is kind of in the same mould (From the Beginning is the name I think) as the VTV title song...nothing copied at all, just along the same lines in terms of ambiance and acoustic flavor and style, perhaps similar to how Aaromale takes a page out of Pink Floyd. I think there are other songs too kind of like this one. I love Rahman that he takes us back to classic stuff from the 70s and 80s so tastefully, but never at all lifting material, but using similar sound and style templates from that era of great music (Kabhi Aditi is another example of a late 1970s and early 80s Western pop sound). VTV title song always reminded me of a classic, soft rock acoustic number from the 70s, but I could never figure out who until my friend heard it and reminded me of ELP's music.
