  Hi All,

It was my friend Sam, member of AUDIO LEAGUE and the winner of OH LA LA 2008
contest had promised to me of introducing me to the great legend double oscar
winner and triple doctorate Dr Dr Dr A R Rahmanji. Though the day had come
little late than expected, it happend to be a great day for me (07.08.09).

It was 10:45 am in the morning when I first saw one of the guest to the events
Shruthi Hassan. I took her snap and have called out her name and complimented
her that her song in LUCK was really beautiful, she reciprocated with big
Thanks.

As I was awaiting for someone even more special for the event had entered
finally, it was none other than our BOSS and for some VIRTUAL GURU Mr A R
RAHMANji. With deep purple color shirt and black trouser (he was very very
simple for the event, but the charm on his face was very very attractive) had
taken his seat mobbed by several journalists and photographers. I ran upto him
not bothered about if someone would stop me meeting him, I wished him Good
Morning Rahmanji for which he replied Good morning with a smile on his face.
I really couldn't stop myself saying that Rahmanji I am blessed to see you
this closely he smiled again. I was capturing his moments in the handycam, I
than requested him if I can take his autograph, he than replied to come
forward. I just stopped recording and quickly pulled up the calicut concert
ticket which I bought it on 03.05.09 from my wallet and lend him my permanent
marker and told him that I was at his calicut show
recently. I collected his autograph (I have got that laminated it and stored
it in a very very safe place in my bedroom).

During the event, I have taken few snaps and recorded ARRji's speech. I got all
his snaps and video recording very closely. After the event, even before ARRji
was leaving I almost held his hand and pleaded him for a snap, he almost
stopped for a second or two but my camera crancked the same moment which was
very very disappointing but never mind, I don't want to show the entire world
that I had taken a snap along with ARRji, rather I am very very happy that I
spoke to and saw him very closely. I can never ever forget such a lovely moment
in my life. I was almost on tears when I was sharing this with my MOM DAD
over the phone. They too were very happy. Big thanks to Sam and his BAND AUDIO
LEAGUE for giving me this opportunity.

ARRji is a man with very very less words, he definitely is a shy guy. I have no
words to express my happiness. I shall definitely talk to him for some more
time in future. Thereby I plead the almighty to bless me in this regards.

Thanks Regards

P'ARR'THA.

 A.R.Rahman - Jodhaa Akbar

 A.R.Rahman- Ghajini

 Pritam - Race

Shankar Ehsaan Loy - Rock On

 Vishal Shekhar - Dostana

i am totally shocked to not to find JTYJN in best music category. i wonder does
it have to do anything with Aamir Khan not submitting JTYJN like TZP last
year?? it has to be otherwise how come they ignore JTYJN. i am afraid now that
they are going to give award to Rock On.

Hi fellow ARR fans,

Is it just me or has the number of emails being exchanged through the groups
increased by leaps and bounds. 5-6 years back I used to get 1 email digest
every 2-3 days, infact even before slumdog I think I would probably get about
2-3 digests per day. Now its like 5-6 digests per day or even more. Its getting
increasingly difficult to read every mail.

I recently started my first job after education and I have a request for
everyone to please make sure you edit the subject line so that it makes it
easier to pick the message one wants to read. While working fulltime I am not
able to devote enough time to read all emails so if we are able to manage the
subject line better atleast I won't miss out on any information. I hope you
understand that I don't mean to disregard anybody's views but in my attempt to
keep track of all emails I have used up a lot of time.

On a different note, I am so happy for ARR and Delhi 6. Not that anyone will
really question ARR's talent, but Delhi 6 came at the right time. After a
plethora of nominations for SDM to reinstate that SDM may or maynot be his best
work (based on some unqualified critics) but he continues to churn out world
class and unique music with every album. You just cannot discount the fact that
no two albums in a broader sense are the same. While with Luck by Chance I have
started to think SEL has become very predictable in their compositions. You can
pretty easily pinpoint what the next line or chord progression would be. I hope
they improve and give us many more DCH/Johny Gaddar/Rock On.

Hail ARR,
Jagdeesh

Hi,
I saw this article yesterday, and posted a comment on that post yesterday
itself...

Do Aankhen Baarah Haath won a Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award (SGWA).  As per my
understanding, Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award is not a Golden Globe Award. It is
just an award that is presented on the same evening on the same stage...
Just because it used to be presented at Golden Globes event, I dont thik it can
be called as a Golden Globe award. So, technically ARR is the first Indian to
win GG, IMO!

This IMDB page (http://www.imdb. com/Sections/ Awards/Golden_ Globes_USA/
awards_summary) lists all the awards that are presented in the Golden Globe
evening. In that list, it shows
Golden Globe, Silver Globe, Samuel Goldwyn Award among others. SGWA is
not listed as a GG, but is shown as a separate category! So, as per this, SGWA
is not a Golden Globe!

Any comments?

AR Rahman NOT the first Indian to win a Golden Globe
http://www.radiosar gam.com/films/ archives/ 30525/ar- rahman-not- the-first-

I am honestly sick and tired for the entire industry drooling over AR Rahman.
His achievement is nothing short of great, but lets not take away the
achievements India has had in the past. Frankly, I am disgusted at the fact
that most of the Indian media doesn't even bother to check its facts before
printing the news. It is disrespectful, inappropriate, and frankly quite
insulting to Mr. Rahman as well.
The first Indian to win a Golden Globe was the Producer/Director Mr. V.
Shantaram, for Do Ankhen Barah Haath which won the Golden Globe, for the
special Samuel Goldwyn Award in the year 1959. V. Shantaram is one of the most
highly regarded directors in the history of Indian cinema. He was not only a
master craftsman and technological innovator, but also an artist of conscience
who dedicated himself to using the film arts as a means to further social
causes. is one of the most highly regarded directors in the history of Indian
cinema. Yes, we have made films of that caliber way back in 1959 - something
that Aamir Khan has been trying very hard to achieve.
So please lets stop the nonsense of first Indian to win a Golden Globe, and
just appreciate Mr. Rahman for bringing such honor to the film industry.

As soon as rahman walked off the stage, I switched over to news channels and it
was great to see them appreciating rahman.

The best was by Times now and another channel by name News 24.

CNN IBN had rajeev masand speaking about rahman's music and praising him.

Times now had telephonic conversation with Irfan Khan and Shabhana Azmi.Irfan
was prasing rahman too.. When the anchor asked Shabhana Azmi that does it
proves that Is India's best..She said..There is no question of Rahman being
india's best, He is World's best composer. It was so heartening to witness all
this live.

News 24 was repeatedly playing the video of rahman on stage..

NDTV India had a special feature on rahman winning the golden globe within
10mins of his winning the award. They showed how a man from Roja till the
slumdog has made indian's proud. They played Dil hai chotasa to start with,
then moved on to movies like Bombay,Jeans, Dil se,Nayak, and then to Jaane
tu.,.,,wow man..From dil hai chotasa to Kabhi Kabhi aditi..What a music ARR has
given us..such haunting melodies all from a single manam lost of words..

Aaj Tak India Tv were late to start...but once they started..it was in there
typical style..it was in full swing..it was celebration of sorts..

Even the headlines in most of the channels was rahman and sdm winning the
awards, the 2nd story was of the satyam fiasco..

All these within 15-20mins after rahman won the award, i didnt watch the rest
of the ceremony as i was hooked to these channels praising our boss..these type
of moments dont happen often...and it  made me feel proud and gave me the
feeling of what exactly it feels like to be the happiest man on the planet...

Everybody were praising rahman on how he is india's best...Thanks to the Indian
media..I dont have any complaints.. It took a award from hollywood to make you
guys realize rahman's worth..bit late..but no complaints.. .

This is going to lead to many more awards recognition for rahman...there is
no doubt that he would be sweeping all awards in our bollywood, I am sure
government too would step in and recognize rahman’s achievements

Congrats to ARR...We are proud of you sir..

1. Isn't there a resemblance of Kabhi Kabhi from JTYJN with Kaadhal Sadagudu

2. In Sakkarakatti, two songs are from Meenaxi which is ARR's own composition
again? Can anyone tell me why is he re-using tunes instead of giving new ones?

3. Why did ADA go unnoticed?
