ummm your statement holds good for the highest end models. Like HD650. The
reason is simply cuz of your player ( computer) output. You need another

[ARR] Yuvraaj Launch - ARR and his mother

2008-10-16 Thread Gomzy
http://specials.rediff.com/movies/2008/oct/16video3.htm

*Now, you can listen to Salman's Yuvvraaj*
The music launch of *Yuvvraaj* on Thursday in Mumbai marked a number of
firsts for its star players. Here's why:

1. The film, which stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor and Zayed
Khan, saw the collaboration between A R Rahman and Subhash Ghai after nine
long years. The last time the two worked together was in *Taal*.

2. The film also marked the first time Salman Khan is working with showman
Subhash Ghai.

3. And lastly, we got a glimpse of A R Rahman's mother, Kareema Begum who
happened to be the guest of honour at the launch.

*Yuvvraaj* is likely to release in the last week of November.

He starts the song.( Ek jaan hai hum) ...the alaap in the begining is by him

and he is also part of the chorus singing "Dil ka yeh sikka...chal jaane
de"and throughout the song in
bits and pieces.

[ARR] Yuvvraaj Hawa and chennai orchestra

2008-10-21 Thread Gomzy
Hey is it only me or anyone else wondering about this?

The inlay cover says

Beethoven's Fifth Symphony Prelude in "Hawa" performed by The Chennai String
Orchestra.

It says " Hawa" and not " Mein hoon Yuvraj". Isnt Hawa tu meri dost hain? Or
all this a usual mistake or a typo?

Re: [arr] Re: Loudness issue in ARR songs

2008-10-23 Thread Gomzy
I really doubt if its the issue with the music companies. This started with
ARR's Bose i think.
The chorus part just goes haywire.

If you check recent soundtracks like Omkara, Singh is King, Parineeta
etci find them to be of very good
quality.

Something that ARR needs to know?

Re: [arr] ATM: 'Kelamal song' - DEJAVU?

2007-10-25 Thread Gomzy
Hello Group,

Seeing the reactions over here I am so very glad that I do not understand
the ragas,the technical aspects,
the loops or beats that go into these songs. I have been listening to arr
since roja but I havent changed one bit
(in terms of dissecting his music). where as you guys have become experts
and very knowledgable.

Maybe thats the curse or disadvantage of knowing these stuffs. In my opinion
an innocent listener and a non tamilian will enjoy arr's
tamil tracks better :)

Re: [arr] Re: ARR music + Bose Headphones...

2007-10-29 Thread Gomzy
Hello Satya,

Totally agree. Shure is one other brand thats much much better than bose
(inclusing the tripod one)
Also Bose is too fragile and one cannot handle them roughly in comparison to
the others in
the market.

Well said,

Infact i would recommend both headphones and speakers. Both give a different
kind of
experience.Speakers ideally would be speakers along with a decent amplifier
streaming to a woofer. People with a terrific
woofer would really feel the Marilyn manroe song. Tha bass it creates is
mindblowing.

Well two things incorrect in the article,

1. It says ARR wasn pleased. His interview says otherwise. It was a mutual
decision
taken

2. Not done due to time constraints cuz he felt the song didn fit the
narration.

Yupp , The tune is retained. More info,

*Kadam Kadam Badaye Ja...* was the regimental quick march of the Indian
National Army <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_National_Army>. Composed
by Ram Singh Thakur <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Singh_Thakur>, the
song has since became an extremely patriotic song in India, and is also
currently the Regimental quickmarch of the Indian
Army<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Army>

[arr] [Non ARR] OSO and Sawariya

2007-11-09 Thread Gomzy
Going by the initial reports both the movies suck and sawariya big time.
Thank God ARR didn waste tracks on these. Atleast i am having the last laugh
:)

Gomzy

[ARR] Farhan Khan's references to ARR

2007-11-09 Thread Gomzy
*You wrote Main Hoon Na, and now Om Shanti Om with Mayur Puri. How did the
story of OSO come to you?*

Mayur Puri has written the dialogues for *OSO*. The story just came to me
when I was doing the musical *Bombay Dreams* in London, which was also about
Bollywood, *Bombay Dreams* portrayed a clich餠and outdated version of the
film industry. I thought if this were made into a movie and released in
India it wouldn't work.

*Why did you decide to switch to Vishal Shekhar from Anu Malik (who was the
music director for Main Hun Na) for OSO's music? *

A director has the prerogative to work with new people in a film if they
feel it will give a new energy to the film. I wanted to first work with AR
Rahman I though he would do a great job with the background score, but that
didn't happen. After that I chose Vishal Shekhar because it is good to work
with newer younger people gives you a fresh perspective.

Yeah right. You must be very proud of how ATM got him fame. Such beautiful
tacks were wasted.
I think he must choose his Tamil projects carefully, like for Mani, Shankar
or Gautam. Not debutants and stuff.
And anyways choosing 10 of his best movies is difficult for all of us
including him :)

*I guess you are also working on an animated project, the music for which
has been composed by A R Rahman*.
Yes, it's called *A Suitable Cockroach*. I started with the idea of what's
the most hated creature in Asia. And I found out that it's a cockroach. So,
the next step was how to make a cockroach lovable. If they hate a creature
that's lovable then I have a character in hand.

Kindly reread my mail. Nobody said ATM songs have flopped. The movie did.
Arr's hardwork can be seen in each and every track, and if you feel ATM
movie
justified his vision, then i feel sorry for you.And its sad to see you have
a
north and south difference on this. I rest my case cuz i dont want to react
to what you have written further.
And by the way,if that matters to you
i am a southy too. :)
