[arr] Re : Common Comman (Love Birds)-->Starting bit unveiled (cool observation

2007-05-12 Thread Kumar, Arun B \(GE, Corporate, consultant\)

Good find buddy.

There is a similar piece in "Maiyya Maiyya" from GURU. During the starting of
the song, towards of the ending of the so-called "ASOKA" flute piece there is a
vocal which is a reverse of the words "Mehtaab ka chehra jhoomtha hai.." (which
comes later into the song).. I cant post the audio clippings as of nowdo
try it out.

Cheers!

Re: [arr] Rahman-Goutam Menon

2007-02-17 Thread arun b
dont know how far this is true.

Around the time when Gautam Menon's first film Minnale
was released, there was a talk going around that
Gautam & the producers initially wanted AR Rahman for
Minnale. But since ARR was busy at that time, ARR
suggested HJs name since HJ had already worked with
him for Mudhalvan.

Just thinking, if ARR had accepted Minnale, it would
have become a big hit (no doubt). then he would have
done Kaaka Kaaka and Vettaiyadu Vilayadu as well!!

[arr] GURU - 8 tracks

2006-11-14 Thread Kumar, Arun B \(GE, Corporate, consultant\)
Just had a word with Sony Music in Bangalore. "Spirit of Guru" is present in
the song listing, making it a total of 8 tracks.
(I remember reading a message by someone asking whether it was 7 or 8 songs)

Will be available in stores only from 18th morning. It was scheduled for 15th
initially (which got postponed). So, ppl who have ordered from musicyogi.com
(including me) are not going to get it shipped on 15th .

Cheers!

Re: [arr] Relation between BOSS and Harris

2005-09-09 Thread arun b
Hi Friends,

As far as I know, relation between AR Rahman and
Harris Jeyaraj is very professional. Both have due
respect for each other. Harris has openly said that
ARR is his guru.

As far as music goes, I believe Harris is heavily
inspired by Ar Rahman. When you listen to some Harris
songs you cant escape the feeling that u have heard it
before somewhere (probably an earlier rahman song).
May be bcos Harris uses almost the same orchestration
as ARR does. He also uses lots of samples and loops
used in earlier rahman songs so sometimes it sounds
like a rehash of 2-3 ARR songs put together. IMHO,
given a situation for a song in a movie, Harris would
most probably lookup to earlier ARR songs for
reference and inspiration. All said, I still think
Harris is a talented MD but no way can he be compared
with ARR. ARR is a trendsetter; Harris is one among
many who follows the trend..

Cheers
Arun

[arr] Resemblance

2005-07-03 Thread arun b
Hi

was listening to the song "Oh Maname" from "Ullam
Ketkumae" (Tamil)music by Harris Jayaraj. The beats
are exactly the same as in "Ae Ajnabi/Poongaatrile"
from Dil Se.

Hmmm...

Arun
