Firstly, when things are going perfectly fine with AR and his work for SdM, It's more than just disheartening..to hear some unwanted comments. Hello! Get your facts right Mr. Nikhil Raghavan! Really, your talking abt a score that is making the nation proud-dare be sarcastic and condescending about it. Secondly, I can bet on the audacity of this man, I strongly think he has not checked/listened to the entire OST, nor has he bothered to read the credits with even little care. He has randomnly heard that AR has won a few international acclaims and is on his way to bigger fame and must have also heard that MIA collaborated with him for this project. That's it. So he writes this? The only track that Blaaze featured in was Gangsta Blues and that never had MIA but had Tanvi Shah. And clearly does the credits also mention the names. And Gangsta Blues sounds like an MIA composition?? Right!! Delhi Concert was perhaps closest to my heart for various reasons!! :) Well, singers/musicians boast of having worked with Rahman. Directors and Producers feel priveledged to have Rahman as part of their projects. I think, we can be proud to be "fans close to Rahman's heart"! Evidence-grand : Delhi concert Dedication to the Yahoo fan club. One side, where this group is going nowhere with non productive and unhealthy discussions, sometimes hurting the man were supposed to be in love with, sometimes getting personal-yet there remains good things in the group as well. Gomtesh, The songs are connected, I think, although they are seperated as two different tracks in the audio Cd. Thankfully. The lyrics suggest that SK wishes to impress KK with his voice and hence the Tu hi to meri Dost song arrives, where he plays the lead singer (My deepest condolences, Benny Dayal, your voice rocks!) Simply, the credits have referred to the previous track as the prelude of the next. Well in actual, the Hawa track has hardly any strings in the beginning, just some magic by Benny Dayal and AR.

Correct. Taal, the songs were independent of the movie and each other. They were just inserted appropriately. AR was hardly bound by limitations. In the case of Yuvvraaj, being a musical (in the sense of script I mean), all the songs are interwoven. Implying, the songs add to the screenplay, carry the script and the story forward. We need to watch the movie to understand why Yuvvraaj is not another Taal. Although I've never liked SG's style of movie making (personal opinion, Im allowed to)

Boss, first try to learn to write constructive criticism the way it should! Are you saying "ARR's servant wrote the songs for sakarakatti" a constructive statement?? There are 300 million better ways to communicate better. I hope the world agrees with me. And Mr Rahman is more than happy with sakarakatti. It's a different approach and different genre altogether. And he's humbly declared he loves the album, so much that he'd ask other people in the industry if they've heard the songs of skatti. (As written in interviews on him) Or would you want Mr Rahman to come and tell you that he thinks Sakarakatti belongs to his league??

Here's another point. After reading another mail from you, I had to top up with this. Well, Rahman makes music for a script narrated by the director. He composes more songs than what you finally hear, just to let you know, the Director picks up the most suitable for his movies and others are not used. So, it's implicated that the director and the producers are happy.Rahman's job is done. With whatever given, we are free to like them or not. If you like them, then great! If not, then great, we love them! I hope you understand the whole scene here. The AR-fan relation is catalysed by the music he gives to movie, which in turn goes through many factors invariably. That's the motive behind starting KM Music-to be able to supply to more fans and the music lovers of different genres, who in many, need to hear stuff much deeper than those you got in movies. I reiterate my stand. Rahman's fans are those who become because of the music he gives, however they maybe. Not those who need them as if the music is made only for them. Mind you, he comes in an elite group of musicians who can boast of being in the TIME mag's all time top ten tracks and also considered one of the best selling artists above people like Madonna, Britney and most clad artists. Damn! AR never boasts! AR has lost touch.Right!!! A classic like JA, a youthful album like JTYJN and Sakarakatti all in one yr and more. You servant will compose???

AR has been giving amazing music right from day one and his work has earned him millions of fans and this is simply how this forum began. We became fans because we liked his work,his personality and other traits. He does not make music to make fans. So it's simple, the relation, you like his music, be his fan. Else, the door is open. Remember, Music, by anybody is not made to increase the number of fans. It happens, with good work, that one becomes a fan. This is written in simple english, however your free to correlate and find similar words in the dictionary and inform me about it.

Dearest Shai shai! Im answering this one for you... When Chetan did the hip hop beats-it does not mean that he is contributing to his composition in the way you think. An analogous situation would be..ARR is the architect..he has the picture of the building in mind..he tell Chetan what the picture in his mind is..Chetan tries to read the picture and go build the building. And ARR comes and says "Yes, this is how I wanted the building to look like" ARR is the architect and Chetan is the engineer/contractor. Now, how does it matter if ARR climbs the ladder and build the building or he stands below, asks Chetan to climb the ladder and do the same work. Get the whole story correct,please. ARR never says "I want to build the building, you build it, If i like it ill approve it" No!! He designs the building.And just instructs ppl what to do. This is just to make things clear. Hi! To the best of my knowledge, I beleive the following is true.. Firstly, Rahman is not so stupid to have a repertoire of splendid musicians and singers "Acting" on stage.. 99 pc of the music is played live-the guitars, the flute, the drums,the keyboards, the synths and a whole lot of other percussions and strings. The only sounds that would be recorded would be a little of the mixing sounds, loops and some special effects and little bit of work done to combine more than one song together.. AR has atleast three to four days of proper rehearsals in his studios before each concert. The singers practise till AR feels it's right. Over and over again, if needed. AR himself takes a lot of time to get Khwaja mere Khwaja to perfection. He uses a couple of other singers to ensure the effect of the three to four rahmans, as heard in the original is achieved. There is barely any lip sync-infact so many singers have so many variations while performing live. AR himself changes and shuffles within a song (Humma humma, NY nagaram and so many!) to make sure it does not sound like we hear it on cd. So many singers do last minute stunts, which is not possible if they were to lip sync!! There is a proper dedicated chorus that also backs the lead singer. Only to ensure that nothing goes wrong, there is always the backing track, on which the musicians tune their instruments to. Especially an AR concert, with hi tech AR touch to it, is a lil impossible to be perfect, but a 99 pc to perfection is always there! If you are judging by the sounds you hear on a video of the concert, then PHEW!! The videos are edited, the sounds are edited and then allowed to sync...the concert videos are not just some premature randomn recordings..they take time to release because of the work involved in getting you good sound quality. I have attended a few concerts of AR and lucky I should admit, to be very close to the stage and to be able to give the above explanation. Gomzy, add?? Nazeef Mohammed.

Hi! There's nothing new that im writing here about this over hyped movie-JTYJN.. One needs to go into the movie hall without keeping in mind the powerful combination of Aamir Khan-Abbas Tyrewala-AR Rahman, else you feel like you've been let down big time. Not being a hardcore Rahmaniac here or not being a fanatic so to say, but honestly, AR Rahman, truly is the hero of the film. Hands down. Only the music stands like some grace to the hype given to the movie. The movie is very ordinary. The script, especially knowing that the concerned has written marvellous scripts like Munnabhai and Maqbool has come up with such an ordinary script-a big let down it was. It's a simple love story, not much can be done about it, but a few things here and there could have made it a special and "let me go back for it" type of a movie. But unfortunately, it failed to do so. The concept of having narration was nice, but when you plan something you ensure it executes well as well. The narration was boring, dragging and had foolish timings. The character called "Maala", the airhostess-was lucky that she got through the auditons when the casting director was asleep. There is a line that seperates humor and stupidity and Abbas Tyrewala crossed the wrong side here. The humor was very kiddish, of sorts, and truly needed one to tickle to be able to laugh. The kids would like it, maybe, but they would prefer "dexter" or "Tom and Jerry", if the choice was given. An honest suggestion would be that the director could have made this movie a "laughable" one instead of making it a one to be laughed at. We're in 2008 and we cant be fooled anymore. Going through the security check by crawling through the knees of the security and getting into a luggage bag and getting through the extra strong rays and jumping the heads of passengers to reach Aditi who has done everything but stepped into the flight, seemed testimonial to the feeling shared above.This would have been funny if the movie was a comedy and the director was trying to make fun of what happens when you fall in love, but NO, this movie was to show "when do you know it's love". According to the movie you know its love when Imran Khan rides on a horse in the lonely streets of Bombay or would have crazy unimaginable stuff that comes time to time in this movie. Again, a different tagline to the movie and labelling it a comedy would have helped. There's still time-others going to watch it, your not going in for a romantic comedy, your going in for a pure "Children's special"! Genelia, wins the race with her looks but the fact that she did not know Hindi was obvious, or maybe I was too observant a cinema goer. Her Hindi dialogues let her acting down-was too noticeable. Imran is a stud-don't even to try to gather attention from a female friend when Imran is on screen. Acting quite good, stiff here and there, but will go a long way for sure. Thank you Aamir uncle. Naseeruddin Shah is an awesome actor-very minimally used here. The gujju character brings in some comedy with his histrionics and accent, meanwhile the others do a decent job. And this movie has realised what a great actor I am-and what an amazing dialogue delivery I have-thanks to Genelia's "soon to be husband" !! Terrible-the biggest lowpoint of the movie.. The music-like most of the movies, hardly use ARR's potential. It's almost like ARR is somewhere struggling behind the screens to escape-from the bonds he has been tied with. For such peppy compositions like Kabhi Kabhi and Pappu you expect something more. Kabhi Kabhi is okay picturised-Nazrein and Pappu follow. Tu bole is a very smart idea-to be introduced as the introduction of the movie, gives the audience a good welcome. Rahman fans dont leave the movie hall during the intermission please-they play Jaane tu meri/mera then. Also, let the credits roll to the end-you have Chetan's remix then. But this is a proper misuse of the magician's music. While they remains hardly any scope for BGM's..ARR as a part of his struggle writes some amazing music..his own voice as the theme and some awesome techno trendy twists to pappu and aditi give you complete proof to the fact that ARR remains the most genuine and hardworking artist here. If you really want to enjoy the movie, curse me for writing this-forget what was written here and just go there for a good get together or a break. Im never going to say-don't watch the movie, I beleive one must watch it, with minimal expectations and to hope that Govinda was the main character of the film. The direction vehicle sure had its "Tyres" punctured. Aamir needs to ensure a good air filling. The production house was blessed by god that the other movie to compete was a disaster like LS 2050 and not a magnum opus like JA-else this would have turned out to be one "Sunlight v/s Sursurbatti" competition.
