There is no denying that the Chor Chor (thiruda thiruda ) (at around
2.40mins) theme  was heavily inspired by the Extra Terrestrial theme
by John
Williams ( starts at 1.40 mins) .

 Its a different question that Sun TV blalantly lifted portions of the same
track for their theme!

yes Gomzy... very good finding... striking similarity between the two...
only in Rahman's composition 2-3 notes are missing otherwise both are
same

I think both are inspired by  Tchaikovsky.

Similar thing is notable for Jamed Horner's compositions alsohe is also
heavily inspired by Tchaikovsky... and we find similarities between Rahman
and Horner (eg. OST:The mask of Zorro and Tazmahal: Karisal tharisal))
