Re: [arr] Great Singers Never to Have Sung For Rehman
gud thinking but its too late to make it possible for reality... --- On Thu, 8/13/09, Arun Krishnan wrote: From: Arun Krishnan Subject: [arr] Great Singers Never to Have Sung For Rehman To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Date: Thursday, August 13, 2009, 11:36 PM Hi, It was when i was listening to Lukka Chupi (Rang De Basanti) by Lata Mangeshkar that a thought struck me of the great singers who have / could not sing for Rahman, and how would his compositions have been if they were to sing for them. One singer i would have loved to listen would be MS Subbalakshmi singing to his tunes. Considering the magic that he created for Lata Mangeshkar in Tu hi bharosa and luka chipi, it would have been a remarkable combination, with Rahman using MS's subtle gamakams into his composition. Would like to know your views as well... Hope this was not discussed earlier. -- Arun Krishnan

Absolutely! MS - ARR combo would have created a furore in the filmi classical arena...!! Just imagine MS crooning to Maarghazhi Thingal, Saukiyamaa, etc...it would have been a bliss..!! Also, not taking credits away from the original singers, these songs would have become anthems for the classical music buffs..!! I also yearn for more Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - ARR combo and Dr.Balamurali Krishna - ARR combo..!! --- On Thu, 8/13/09, Arun Krishnan wrote: From: Arun Krishnan Subject: [arr] Great Singers Never to Have Sung For Rehman To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Date: Thursday, August 13, 2009, 6:06 PM Hi, It was when i was listening to Lukka Chupi (Rang De Basanti) by Lata Mangeshkar that a thought struck me of the great singers who have / could not sing for Rahman, and how would his compositions have been if they were to sing for them.
