Thx for the reply Shree.
You reply was very informative for ordinary listener like me.
My initial reaction to that portion of the song was like that.
For a international feel, perhaps it shd be like that.

i  favour kishore in this regard I JUST LOVE the voice modulations done by AR
RAHMAN they always glorify the voice of the singer and adds beauty to the song
A R RAHMAN has done it perfectly over the years and it has  never sounded bad
always superb just brilliant.and relating to this VOICE GLORIFICATION subject i
have a point that why many singers SOUND ORDINARY but whenever they sing for A
R RAHMAN they do wonders for example SAY SADHANA SARGAM vocals never struck to
me a treasure but whenever she sings for A R RAHMAN my goodness her voice turns
gold glittering shining , glorious. she has sung the most scintillating songs
ever. and her voice almost divine just out of the world .its nothing but magic
of A R RAHMAN.

No Raj.. This mix of the Nadaswaram has the feel.

In the case of 'Nedukitten', it has Thavil and other acoustic folk percussion
instruments and Nadaswaram is the lead instrument other than vocals. And in
Omana Penne, it has Logic loops more and Nadaswaram is mixed and processed in a
great way to get an international feel for the song.

To me , Kalyani menon's voice sounded gr8.
But Nathaswaram/ Continium could have been louder like
used in duet/nenthukiten (star)

I agree with Kalyan Bro..

Of course this is a trend, but using it beautifully and according to the songs'
(or say visuals') need would be more beautiful! For example Naresh's voice is
processed beautifully at 03:04 and 03:07 in 'Kannukkul Kannai'..

Sometimes I just sit, listen and concentrate just for such parts.. That's the
magic of AR! He always gives us something to leARn in every track of an Album
or a Concert!

The eq(processing) of kalyani menon's voice and nadhaswaram is a new trend..and
it sounds amazing..but yes I agree with benny's voice.

He or his engineers use such techniques (or modifications as you say) only when
those were required. And not always.

ARR has used this technique many times before, and I love it.
Forget this technique.. Even otherwise also, ARR had been modifying
natural vocals to add beauty to the song! Eg: Mg Sreekumar's vocals in
Chinna Chinna MAzhaithuli( En Swasa Katre), YESUDAS's vocals in
Pachaikiligal( Yesudas did not like it! It was controversial then)
etc.. But all of these experiments brought out MINDBLOWING results!!
Remember SHANKAR MAHADEVAN's UPPUKARUVADU? ??

Sadhana Sargam, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Shankar Mahadevan, Kavitha
Krishnamurthy, Hariharan, Madhushree, Minmini all sound the BEST in
ARR songs! Why?? Because, ARR makes a lot of modifications to the
originally recorded voice!!

>From his early albums, ARR had been using techniques like DUAL/MULTI
Tracking, Vocal Echoes, layer-cropping etc.. and ALL of them, TILL

E.g. the chorus in Omanna Penne, or Anbil Avan. I think use of technology (as
against natural vocals) to build the harmony is not working out the way it
should. Technology driven musical instrument sounds are fine but vocals? nope -
not working out for me.

IMO - no technology can either emulate or beat the purity in vocals

Omana Pennae , can be reduced..
