 Dear All,

You may love the music Enthiran or hate it (I love it myself), but if there's
one thing that you cannot deny it's the courage of Rahman bro. In fact, how
difficult would it have been for him to compose the kind of tunes that fans
think a Rajini movie requires? If I am required to answer that then there's
no use having fans group like this.
How many composers would have the, to put it crudely, balls to compose a
track like Puthiya Manitha for a Rajini movie? Every single one of them
would have opted for a song with hundreds of folk drums playing a crass tune
whose novelty wouldn't even last the movie's run in theatres. But no Sir!
Rahman is not from that stock, and that's why he is great. He will give what
the situation in the film requires without any fear of the repercussions. He
may have fallen many times while innovating, but he has the courage to pick
himself up and innovate some more. He is not a template. If most of the times
we are baffled at his tunes the first time we listen to it, it's because of
this. I wouldn't have been his fan if he gave me exactly what I wanted. I am
his fan because by his courage he is pushing the boundaries of my taste in
 music.
Having said that I don't think anybody needs to like a piece of art just
because it's from someone. Like the quote from Evelyn Beatrice Hall often
wrongly attributed to Voltaire, I will disapprove of what you say, but I
will defend to the death your right to say it. But please chose you words
carefully, as they have a tendency to have a life of their own. Sometimes
they can hurt, even when you don't intend to.
