Thanks Thineshan. . I will give a try. . Even I am time pressed. . Wonder
how Vithur gets all the time :) Thanks Vithur. I guess Vithur rips using
Goldwave in to mp3 and removes the voices.

I would suggest, whoever has the time and drive give try to various methods
and see if some method can be benchmarked.

hey Vithur, I am not good enough to advise you. But I have made DTS
5.1 CDs for movies like sivaji and so I know a bit about ripping and
encoding etc. I noticed that whenever you or Kaissom rip BGMs, you
guys are always working with mp3 files. Here is what I would do:
 1. rip the audio stream as ac3 or dts depending on whatever is available
 2. use foobar and ac3 and dts plugin to convert the stream into a wav file
 3. now use audacity to open that 6 channel wav and make stereo the
left and right channels and export them as WAV.
 4. now use whatever method to edit the wav file and also goldwave to
remove the voice from the wav
 5. upload

** I would love to rip BGMs but I am not finding time at all with a
hectic schedule. But basically since mp3 files are compressed, vocal
removers r terrible on them. its better to keep it as wav from start
to finish. ALthough, this leads to big files, atleast we are getting
 the BEST quality possible.

** I am sorry for advising you without doing my own BGM rips. I have
done 5.1 dts cd of sivaji like i told you but that was easy to work
with since the songs r chapters. Anyways, hope you consider what I
wrote. And when I find the time, I will surely provide BGMs like you
 an kaissom.

no sorry, it stays as stereo. i made a mistake. basically if you use
the method i suggested you will at the end get a stereo wav track with
the best quality possible! i suggest kaissom or vithur to give this
one a try. sorry, you guys are much more expereineced with this than i
am, but I find this to be working much better than using an mp3.

 Thineshan,

you mean to say, by using your method, the final output will be
mono? Doesnt
 that kill the whole purpose?

the method i suggested will work like a charm. another thing is,
when
you use voice remover, the stereo becomes mono. thats the only
  negative with voice removers.
