I disagree. The singers have done a wonderful job in Rising. Vocal chords are on the spot, crisp and right on the notes - ARR classical tunes are not easy to get on the spot even by some of the most talented singers in the profession.
Rising's brilliance is credited not just to ARR but also to the singers and ofcourse superb lyrics. On your second point, I found that initially reused tunes halted expectation - the anticipation factor.. but over many listens I feel that reused tunes have become well ingrained into the song and soon and I associate them as much with this song as with one in the past. I dont think many people on this forums found rising to be disappointing. It might appear so because the topic got reiterated.. notice thought that most people discussing the topic were defending Rising. I agree with the remedies though.
