Re: [arr] Time gap between albums
I disagree Vithur. The logic is flawed. Anybody can find the links themselves with the growing power of google. May be 2 or 3 students can buy an album and share. That again is a form of piracy. We are too far off hitting the right model. On Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 11:05 PM, Vithur [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Aravind I agree with you. But its not in ARR 's hands. Re: [arr] Time gap between albums
I agree that the release day is not totally in ARR's hands.. but, he can at least talk to the producers... for that matter, even the audio rights owners (the music label companies) can negotiate among themselves to avoid close releases! My point is that students who would have otherwise bought the album, dont buy it because of this reason! http://arrahmaniac.blogspot.com --- On Wed, 6/18/08, Vithur [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Vithur [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [arr] Time gap between albums To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Date: Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 11:05 PM Hi Aravind I agree with you. Re: [arr] Time gap between albums
Nice thread here. Will add my two cents. Actually the music label companies should negotiate with each other to be sensible business-wise. They are eating into each other's pie here. Unknowingly, somewhere this kind of thing also supports piracy I guess. I think that the cost of the music CDs should be reduced to Rs. 50/- or thereabouts. This way the dependable youth can buy three music CDs for the cost of one and also have the satisfaction of having the original (ADA costed Rs. 160/- if I remember right). This results in a low-margin (the margin would still be around 50% though [not considering distribution costs]) high-volume game for the music owners without having to compromise on the release dates and also avoid piracy. Thus it would be two birds with one arrow to quote a cliche! :) Love, Adi.
