Hi Rahmaniacs, Writing to you all after a long time. Had alot of fun at the concert. Had a first hand experience of how fun Gujarati people can be... :-) I was seated on my own till the Gujarati family arrived. Grandma, mother and her daughter belonging to 3 different generations. And me giving expert comments to the mother, who is not a ARR fan. :-) She asked me why there is a eruption of noise in the crowd time to time... I said its when they sing in Tamil :-) Felt proud. Concert was very different to what he had last time in London. The best part: MJ's Black or White in ARR's voice. It was jaw dropping. Did expect a MJ tribute. But didn't expect this. Met Benny Dayal, He walked out to the main entrance and went back in few times but nobody recognised him. Stopped him and had a good chat for about 10 mins. and the disappointing part (according to me): Sivamani was missing. Alphonse (Aaromale singer) was there behind keyboard and dancing around the stage but didn't sing Aaromale from VTV. The Chaiya Chaiya song could have been more colourful. Hoping to be at Wembley Arena today. But haven't bought the tickets yet. Have fun, Mirza.

Its been a while since I wrote a mail. I was just waiting for a reason. Now I have one, may be a reason which is better than an oscar. A.R.Rahman live and direct in the city I love, Chennai(most colourful and lively people), . I am a part of a group now(close to 50 and still counting, die hard fans too and most of em part of this group)they have got tshirts arranged, travel, banners and u name it we have it. Just waiting for the big occasion to let loose. Just cant wait for it. Rahman comming down in a lift, blazee screamin at top of his voice and mausam and escape as BG. WOW. He starts off with with o saya, 50 drummers around. Man I will pay my salary for that minute. Worth every penny. Then he goes on to sing fanaa. January is the month of Sydney arts festival. Many of the shows and performances are free to public in open arenas and parks. Most are by internationaly well known artists, some are really rare to see. ARR gesture to offer a free concert here is tuely commendable, especially dedicating to Indian students struggling to balance study, work and debts to get an overseas living experience. It was a super fantastic and visually stunning show. Rahman is equally versatile in Indian Classical and Western music. Not only is he a fantastic singer himself, he is a super composer as well, and the percussion beats set by him are to be seen and heard to be believed. No wonder he is considered as one of the greatest musicians of our country. At the concert a few of his songs were rendered by such versatile singers like Hariharan, Sadhna Sargam, Kailash Khera and several other young artists whose names I don't even know. Specially the Maiyaa, Maiyaa song from the film Guru rendered by the beautiful young singer was unbelievable. Earlier I've heard many singers sing this song and always thought I liked them. But this was set to the original A R Rahman's heart pulsating music to the percussion beats of the great Sivamani accompanied by stunning stage performance. It couldn't get better and one would wish it will go on forever and ever. All in all, it was a concert I'll remember for a long long time. Now I know the accolades showered on Rahman are truly justified. He deserves all of it and more. It is a matter of pride for us that this great musician belongs to our country. - Did you know? I was there at the A R Rahman concert in New Delhi. It was wonderful. It was the first time that I got to hear A R Rahman live. But I felt that it was inadequate. It would have been much better if there were more singers. Then everything is forgiven for ARR. It was surprising to see, the usually reserved Rahman, come out to the audience like he did in Delhi. Hey Vijay and anyone else of influence. You guys should update arrahmanlive and arrahmanworld with the news of this postponement, and maybe write a formal apology for the inconvenience. I feel extremely sorry for people who are disappointed. I hope you can make it to the later show. I will be at the NYC concert, and will travel for the DC concert as well, most likely.

Hi all, I heard that the programme wil be scheduled for 1 hr, but it was only for 30 min. Also Yeh jo desh was not shown as live ARR singing, it was as BGM. The concert is good. My Blog Entry After a lot of planning and deliberations me and heman decided to head to Bangalore for the dream of watching AR Rahman Live and Direct in his global 3rd Dimension Global Tour. The concert was being held at Bangalore's Palace Grounds with an expected crowd turn out of over 65,000. Thats a lof of people i must say. Like any true die hard fan, i along with my pal heman spend the first part of the saturday roaming around randomly in Bangalore, redeeming tickets and shopping to come back to our room at about 6:00 PM only to be damped by Rain! It rained like hell and broke hearts. Some way or the other we hurried towards the venue of the concert when the rain gods decided to go full swing on what they do best. They turned their taps full and it poured like hell! Me and Heman were under a shelter interacting with other Rahmaniacs ( as we prefer to be called) to come to terms with what then seemed a possibility - The Concert being rescheduled. I was in for a huge disappointment, especially when i and heman had to catch the next day morning flight back home! No way i thought, I wanted the concert to happen and i wanted to be a part of it. Even if it means being drenched every inch inside out. I ran out of the shelter to find my place and heman followed me, getting drenched. It was 6:45 PM, and there was no news if the concert was to happen or being rescheduled. I kept asking every face i had eye contact with. Is the concert on...? i asked, desperatly seeking some positive signs. Many said I don't think so...! While few others said The Show must go on 7:15 PM, me and heman stood hoplessly next to a power generator in an attempt to dry our soaked shirts and then we heard the voice of the man himself. Mr Rahman came to the stage and said Hi Bangalore, its the month of Ramadan and the lord is showing his blessings. These are his blessings. Please give us an hour to set things right and we will be back. We will rock! The soaked crowed went mad. There was now a glimmer of hope that the show would happen, a shorterned one at that. I was ok with it. Shorterned show was much better than no show. We were still wet wet wet, all the way in. It was irritating but anything for the showman and it was little ok because you had atleast 25,000 folks as company! many went back home to return with umbrellas Time 8:30 PM, Rahman appeared in white suit to kick start with 'Fanaa... . And then there was no looking back. All cadre of ticket holders were soon asked to join in one huge group of 35000 to jive along with rahman and his troupe. Still wet, the crowd jived to Humma Humma, Fanaa and several other chart busters momentarily forgetting the muggy wet clothes! Atleast i forgot about my wet and muddy jeans Come 11:50, the rain gods wanted to resume their jobs. The end of the concert was pretty close when the rains poured even harder. It was as if, the gods paused their duty for the concert. The concert was crippled. Only two speakers were active. The 3-D display equipment went kaput. Rahman's back stage screen hung precariously with the projection screen evidently torn.People stood on slippery soil, wore muddy clothes. But then Rahman pulled if off despite all this. Only he can do such a thing. He and his troupe of renowned bollywood singers saluted the audience for being so supportive of the concertAlltough he did admit to have learnt two things 1.
