Nice topic to discuss dude...Before giving my opinion I just wanna request if
we could avoid comparing Ilayaraaja and ARR. Ilayaraaja was the best during his
glory days..A fine music director he was and still he is..So I won t include
Ilayaraaja in our discussion..Anyway he was one of ARR's guru..Well as far as I
know, there is only one man who is continuosly rendering the mind-blowing music
for past 10 years. Of course the man is Isai Puyal AR Rahman...When we are
talking about originality ARR should be mentioned..He is The Guru
Here comes the other music directors who I think could complete our top 10
chart..(I am more to Tamil movie musics so you ll be seeing Tamil movie music
directors only in the chart..)
2) Harish Jayaraj - Lack of variety music compositions but still able to render
his best effort for every movie. Brilliant with melodious songs and like ARR he
is dare enough to experiment new singers.Done a good job in Laysa Laysa, Unnale
Unnale, Vettaiyadu Villayadu, Minnale, Kakkha Kakkha, Pachaikili Muthucharam
3) Yuvan Shankar Raaja - Ilayaraaja's son who is making his father really
proud.. Really comfortable with all type of music..His combination with
Selvaraghavan is really worth watching and listening..Good in composing fast
beat songs...A bit unconsistent but he is able to give us good songs.. Awesome
in Pudhupettai, Paruthiveeran, Kathal Kondain, Kanda Naal Muthal ,AIBI,
Kalvanin Kathali, Arinthum Ariyamalum
4) Vithyasagar - I m really impressed with his musics for the past 3
years..He's the one who can give us wonderful melodious songs. Impressive
composition in Chandramukhi(Raa..raa.. Konjam Neram only), Dhool, Ghilli, Run,
Thambi (Sudum Nilavu),
5) GV Prakash - ARR sister's son..Only 18 but already carving his name as one
of the top music directors in Tamil Music Industry..Sung many songs before
becoming music director..Remember the small boy's voice in Kuchi Kuchi
Rakkama(Bombay) and Chikku Bukku (Gentleman)..Well ARR identified his talent
even at that age..That's why he is the GURU...His debut 'Veyyil' is the talk of
the town..Simply stunning..He has a similarity with ARR..Originality and
variety..If you listened to Veyyil songs you'll be aware of that that..All the
five songs are totally different and near perfection..Simply brilliant in
Veyyilode Vellayadi song...His next venture is Oram Po..he continued his good
job in this movie..Fresh music and he even did some kind of experimental
songs...Watch out for this young music sensation..

9 : Shantano Moitra ( Pareeneeta , Eklava 7-1/2 Phere)
10 : Anand Raaj Anand / jatin lalit / Anu Malik / Hamish Rashmiya
