Deep down, we know that as much as we love ARR's music, we also loved Gulzar's poetic lyrics. And when you fell in love with something, it's hard to expect something else in the place of the ones we love. Admit it, if you fell in love with a girl, would you think that her identical twin sister is as amazing as the one you love? You're bound to think that your lover is greater, of course..well, at least up to the point you began to realize that both are amazing in their own ways. Raavanan was the identical twin sister, in this case. You may not love it as much as love the earlier version but at some point you will realize that it's as amazing as the other. Songs don't grow on you through its music or lyrics. It's our heart and mind which grow with them. There are layers in the music, even hidden sounds that your audible ears don't get to hear but the mind senses those sounds and acts on it. There is nothing like that in lyrics. Lyrics are spontaneious understanding and liking or not liking. Of course, meaning, deeper meaning, interpretations are there, yet that is working of conscious mind, whereas unconscious/ superconscious minds work on many layers in the music. So, it is music that has the power to grow. Now, a music lover would pay attention to music first, and let the music grow, and once it grows to a reasonable degree, then only does he bother about the lyrics, listens to them for the first time, and then understand and then finds interpretation. So, it is only music that can grow, but that growing process keeps one so occupied that he doesn't pay attention to the lyrics to like them. That is homemade Dr Rawat's theory just thought and coined.
