India's Deepa Mehta , now settled in Canada , has scored over top Canadian filmmakers Atom Egoyan and David Cronenburg as her 'Water' has been selected to open the Toronto International Film Festival on 8th September this year . Deepa is happy that the film which she could not shoot in India due to to the attack on her unit by fundamentalists while she was shooting in Varanasi five years ago , will now be seen by the world . She changed the shooting venue from India to Sri Lanka and completed her film only recently . 'Water' deals with the Hindu child widow of the India in the thirties and stars John Abraham and Lisa Ray along with Seema Biswas .
