Re: Unable to Integrate ClearCase with Remedy

2007-06-17 Thread Ankur Gulati (GR/EIL)
I am able to integrate it now. the issue was that the entry in ar.conf
file for the integration exceeded 255 characters. I shortened the the
directory structure and the directory names. It went fine
But now when I am trying to export all the objects it gives an error "
Cannot get the def of the Object named If I cancel
this error to go on to next object then it gives same error again.

Need to make sure that the client machine (where you are running the
Admin tool from) has the CC Client loaded.

Are you trying to integrate it with an existing Remedy application
platform, or just base Remedy AR System without any existing
applications? In what application environment do you intend to use CC?

**

Hi Listers,

ARS: 7.01

OS: Solaris

I am trying to integrate ClearCase with remedy. Followed the
instructions done whatever was mentioned in the setup pages from the Adv
guide. The issue is that the Source Control menu options are still
disabled. I can see an extra column in the admin which says "Not in SC"
but I cannot import it in ClearCase as that option is still disabled and
other SC options. I have done all the changes in server information too.
checked the ar.conf file and all the changes are there.

Any suggestions...?

Cheers

Ankur

Share SLA experience

2007-06-17 Thread cakrabinaya

Hi All,

I'm newbie on Remedy Helpdesk and I need some information about SLA.
Could you guys share your experience regarding to SLA deployment.
I my self had deployed more than 500 item SLAs at once recently, and
more than 1000 item SLAs totally in 1 month.

I use Remedy 6.3 with w2k3 as the OS in compaq blade server with 4
processor and 4gb ram,

The impact to our server of deploying those SLAs is very significant.
It eating almost all the memory and processor resources, and also give
application error status on Event Viewer. It needs one week to process
all 500 items to built successfully.

Does anyone know how many SLAs that securely deployed in one time max..?
Does anyone ever deploy as many as I do..? Or even more..?
And what is the best practice of designing SLA..? Is it per CTI or per
Priority and Urgency..?

TIA

This does not help. Admin tool always use rpc 309600, and single
threaded. This is because you need constency in the database.

What about using a private thread when you create the indexes? Add a
private thread (say 309650 with min 2 max 4) to the server and specify this
thread when using the Admin tool.
This way you shouldn't tie up the admin thread.

the behavior to change.

Just to be clear, updating the FT index when a record changes
take
virtually no time at all. It's the initial indexing when one
first
marks a field to be full text indexed that's "locking up" the
server.

My dev server has the DB, ARS, and FTS on the same box
(production has
separate HW for ARS and SQL). It's a Dell 1850, two 3GHz Xeon
CPU
(single core), 4GB RAM, HW resources really doesn't seem to be
the
issue.

2007-06-17 Thread P Romain ARSlist
Could you use an sql menu?

Then maybe an sql statement along the lines of (for Oracle) the following
will give you what you need:

select value, value from form union select 'Clear', 'a' from dual

order by 2

Hello listers,

I've a character menu that does a look-up on some other form to grab a list
of available values. I would like to add a blank value on top of the menu
item. Any ideas as to how this can be done?

Thanks in advance.
