AW: SLM 7.6 - Task Management?
Tauf, I just implemented the same in SLM 7.6.04 and we are also able to create measurement records. But as already mentioned, you would need to create Reports against this data. HTH, Mario -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] Im Auftrag von Charles Baldi Gesendet: Freitag, 15. April 2011 03:35 An: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Betreff: Re: SLM 7.6 - Task Management? I did this integration in ITSM 7.1 and the steps were the same. As I recall it worked fine and we could create SLAs and targets. The SLM qual builder is simplistic so you would need to make a new one if you added many custom fields that you wanted to track. Also, there is no Task SLM tab like you find on Incident that shows the current compliance. You could probably hack together one using Incident's as a model but we never got that far. Mostly you gain the ability to write reports against the data. Regards, Chuck Baldi On Wed, Apr 13, 2011 at 2:22 PM, Chowdhury, Tauf tauf.chowdh...@frx.com wrote: ** All, This is the response I got. Does this make sense to you SLM vets? Problem Is there a way to incorporate SLM with Task Management? Solution Yes, this is possible. Perform the following steps: 1. Go to the Application Administator Console//Custom Configuration Tab, and click on Service Level Management//Configure Application Settings//Data Sources. 2. Select the form Task Management. Be sure to specify the field that holds the unique identifier (Instance Id or Request Id) 3. Customers may want to add the SLM tables to a tab. You can bring it in from HelpDesk or our sample form SLM:ServiceRequest. 4. Configure a Goal Type from the Administator Console at SLM//Configure Application Settings//Goal Types 5. The HelpDesk integration has its own qualbuilder but for the Task, the SLM qualbuilder will suffice. Tauf Chowdhury | Forest Laboratories, Inc. Hi, 1. Export the form to a def-file. 2. Edit the def with notepad. 3. Search for the persistent field id. 4. Delete the field {..} from the def field { id : xxx ... } 5. Subtract one from the form-field-count near the beginning. num-fields : n 5. Import the changed def in place. Best Regards - Misi, RRR AB, http://www.rrr.se Products from RRR Scandinavia (Best R.O.I. Re: Using Active link to bring data from another form.
If the temp field is also a character field, it should store the date in mm/dd/ format. You can’t include keywords or field references within your quotes – they won’t resolve. They’ll be treated as literals. Use “%” + $tempfield$ +”%” The plus will concatenate the string. “%” + $DATE$ + “%” should also work. These assume that you actually have records (rows) that match. You can manually search via the user client (or Mid Tier, if that’s how you access Remedy). The string has to be exact, with any number of variable characters on either side. Loading Flashboard Variables with overlaid forms - ARS 7.6.04 bug
All, Just wanted to post this for future reference. We have determined that if a form has an overlay added to it and you try to bring up a Flashboard Variable definition for that form, it goes into an almost endless loop pulling the list of fields and VUIs, as shown in the api logging during this happening. Developer Studio will sit there running the same API calls/queries against the database for over 20 minutes and then eventually loads the object (you'll see your local client's CPU and network utilization rise to a steady rate while this is happening). When we deleted the overlay for this form, the Flashboard Variable objects loaded in an acceptable 10-15 seconds. Re: Using Active link to bring data from another form.
Thanks for Responding, I'm sorry I should elaborate; before the below formats are passed into the active link (main). There is a format active link, that I am passing the $DATE$ to charactertempfield in this manner. tempfield = $tempfield$, which sets thetempfield = 4/14/2011 tempfield = “%” + $tempfield$ +”%”, which sets the tempfield = %4/14/2011% tempfield = + “%” + $tempfield$ +”%” + , which sets the tempfield =%4/14/2011% However the workflow fails when the variable tempfield is passed to the qualification with the LIKE command below. 1. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield, so tempfield = 4/14/2011, this did not work. --- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE %$tempfield$%) 2. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield with % , so tempfield = %4/14/2011%, this did not work. --- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE $tempfield$) 3. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield with % and , so tempfield = %4/14/2011%, this did not work. --- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE$tempfield$) Yes, there is data /records that match. We need that qualification to match, in order the pass data form form 2 to form 1, that in-turn fire other workflow down stream; this is the key workflow. On reboot from the security patches (there were 15 total) the AR Server would not start automatically, and all subsequent attempts to start it manually saw the armonitor start, then crash. While troubleshooting with BMC support, it could not even be started from the command line. Removing the KB2509553 security update and rebooting solved the problem immediately, with the ARS service starting normally. The only other AR server that I had applied this patch (and all of the others) to was the Staging Server (Windows 2003 R2 x64 with ARS 7.6.04 CMDB 2.1.00.02 and ITSM 7.0.03.009 etc.), and it has a local SQL Server hosting the db so it was not affected. Note that on the problem AR Server, it was still possible to run the SQL Server Management Studio client (2008) and connect to the remote db normally, even though the ARS service could not. Security Bulletin MS11-030 KB2509553 is a Critical patch for a vulnerability in DNS resolution that could allow remote code execution; it slammed the door shut on something that ARS depends on. Until BMC comes up with a solution for this, I will not be applying this patch to any other AR Server, especially my 7.1 production system with a remote db. Hi Patrick, I'm not finding evidence of your statement below. Doing a search of Product Defectshttp://apps.bmc.com/server/available.cfm?fc=REMDEFECTS on AR System version 7.6.04 defects on Support Central shows 138 defects. AI is a third Party application and also uses its own database to hold the jobs created to import data. This is why it cannot be used in a server group. Although AIE can be installed in a server group it is better to have an integration server in the server group that would be for all of these to run on. -Original Message- From: patchsk vamsi...@gmail.com To: arslist arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Sent: Fri, Apr 15, 2011 12:33 pm Subject: Re: Atrium Integrator 7.6.04 in Server Group Setup I do not know about 7.6.04, but 7.6.03 has a separate chapter on AIE uide on how to install on a server group environment, as well there re some KBs too. am not sure why they are saying it is not supported. hat kind of issues are you seeing? Re: Atrium Integrator 7.6.04 in Server Group Setup
Initially, I thought Atrium Integrator will work in the server group as well base on the documentation. However, after installing Atrium Integrator, it works fine in a stand alone server environment setting. As soon as the server is added to the Server Group as the primary server, AIE screen pop up saying it fails to get NGIE job list. I was able to trace it down flow to see that it tries to do a query on NGIE:JOBLOG form. Somehow, for whatever reason, when the server is in Server Group, performing a search on this vendor form returns a Authentication Error. BMC Support stated that they will clarify the position of Atrium Integrator in the Server Group in the next documentation update. At this point, there is no ETA for this. And yes, we have no choice but to go with AIE even though both documentation and BMC Support stated that this is at end of life and will be replaced by Atrium Integrator. Re: Using Active link to bring data from another form.
Mike, Thanks you so much responding. I figured it out. Active link 1, which is formating, sets the tempfield (char) to $DATE$ Active Link 2, set the qualification to 'Fields1.form' LIKE $tempfield$ Don't format with or %, because its is passing the character to the sql. Then sql is excuting a instr count 0 if it finds the match. So it looks like correct (dbms_lob.instr(T9.C600, '4/15/2011') 0) ORDER BY 1 ASC vs the incorrect (dbms_lob.instr(T9.C600, '%4/15/2011%') 0) ORDER BY 1 ASC I have tried so many variation of the setup must have missed one. Definitely, forgot about using sql logs to see what was being passed is sql; won't forget know. Lets hope not a fluke and fail later today. so far so. Excellent. I'm going to bet that my particular problem may be influenced by the fact that all of these servers are on a public network and have firewalls running. ALL of them. This patch probably blocks a port that I don't have open except between domain controllers within the subnet - just a suspicion, since several sites have reported no problem with the patch, and I remember how much work it took to get AD replication working through the firewalls years ago. It even blocks remote desktop or terminal server connections, after most remote server reboots. This has been passed up to our premier support rep at Microsoft, so I may get an answer at some point telling me what ports to open after applying it.
