If your on 7.6.4 you can use the Alert --> Web service plug-in in AR System. This is asyncron, and will probably do what you want. [Resolved] The Flex Combo-box Selection in User Tool, appears to be resolved using Latest from Flash Player.
FYI: We had raised this issue with Adobe. http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-3224 - ComboBox(Flex control) and DateField selection using the mouse doesn't work in Microsoft Browser Control Update : Qingyan zhu added a comment - 04/25/11 10:22 PM Thanks for reporting.
