2013-06-28 Thread Melanie McAllan
Dear all,

Scapa TPP for Remedy - New, 3 Step "CAPTURE, PROCESS, GO" release now available!

Achieving optimal performance from your Remedy or ITSM-based environments can
be tricky to say the least. If your system is highly customized and requires
frequent updates and other changes, this adds another layer of complexity,
doesn’t it? Scapa TPP, our fast and cost-effective performance test,
monitoring and optimization platform for BMC Software’s Remedy and ITSM
solutions, can now help you make sure your Remedy and ITSM systems – customized
or not - are optimized in 3 quick and easy steps: “CAPTURE, PROCESS, GO”
(http://www.scapatech.com/products/remedy/new-remedy-release/) .

This latest release of Scapa TPP for Remedy encompasses all of our 10+ years of
experience in ensuring Remedy and ITSM system environment performance and
simplifies the process of creating tests, making it accessible to all. See it
for yourself during our upcoming webinar entitled, “CAPTURE, PROCESS, GO –
Scapa TPP's 3 steps to Optimal Remedy Performance”. Register now

CAPTURE, PROCESS, GO – Scapa TPP's 3 steps to Optimal Remedy Performance

With Scapa TPP “CAPTURE, PROCESS, GO”, the benefits are clear:
Speed and simplicity: Scapa TPP fully automates the creation of tests –
including identification and handling of ‘hidden’, yet essential, data
dependencies - that replicate real-world business processes accurately,
allowing tests of any complexity to be created in minutes. Each of these steps
requires minimal or, indeed, no user intervention, saving time particularly on
projects that require hundreds of tests to be run repeatedly.

Ease of use and easy to repeat tests: Updates, additions, new versions –
technology, and our use of it, is not static. Scapa TPP’s 3 step process,
“CAPTURE, PROCESS, GO” makes it very straightforward to create and repeat
tests, helping you eliminate “show stopping” issues and failures prior to
system rollout.

No experience required: Remedy system testing of any size and complexity is
achievable, even for users with NO prior experience of Remedy. Short video
clips illustrating each stage of this process are available here
(http://www.scapatech.com/products/remedy/webcasts-videos/) plus our upcoming
webinar (https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/882883194) will illustrate this.

Accurate insight into system performance characteristics: Scapa TPP uses real
data to reproduce, in the most accurate way, what happens in your system and
how it is used every day. In our experience, the use of synthetic data cannot
achieve this and results in, at best, an incomplete view of your system’s
performance characteristics. Testing with Scapa TPP, however, will show you how
any changes, no matter how small or slight, can affect your daily business
operations.

Other benefits include: lower costs through maintaining a performing system and
reducing system issues and risks, increased agility and ability to respond to
issues, and quantifiable and actionable results available on demand
demonstrating achievement of service levels, whether this is in-house or for
third parties.

Testing with Scapa TPP ensures these benefits are experienced continuously
throughout the full deployment lifecycle, from pre production stages to
production, through upgrades and migration.

Contact us (http://www.scapatech.com/contact/) for further details about this
new release of Scapa TPP or register now
(https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/882883194) to attend our “CAPTURE,
PROCESS, GO – Scapa TPP's 3 steps to Optimal Remedy Performance” webinar and to
see how Scapa TPP can improve your Remedy and ITSM systems’ performance and
benefit your business.

Regards,

The Scapa Technologies Team

NOTE: Automated test creation is available for both the Remedy API and Mid
Tier. This functionality is not dependent on any specific version of Remedy
(all versions including the latest 8.1 version are fully supported) and it is
not application specific, allowing testing of customized or custom applications.

WWRUG13: Right on Schedule

2013-06-28 Thread Doug Blair
Hello ARS listers!

We are only three months away from the start of WWRUG13, September 30 through
October 4 in San Jose, California!

The most challenging part of the WWRUG conference is trying to figure out which
sessions to go to! This year there are more than 100 breakout sessions, and we
are pleased to release the schedule now so you can start planning in advance.
There probably will be a few minor changes here and there, so this schedule is
always labeled as tentative and subject to change, but it's as close as we can
get right now. This year there are new panel sessions each day with multiple
speakers, and these will include opportunities for audience questions. There's
even an ARSlist panel featuring MVP's! In addition to the scheduled breakouts
there are numerous other ways to talk about our favorite subjects like Birds of
a Feather rooms and the Evening with Engineering, but these deserve their own
spotlight so we'll get to them next week. We know you'll want to spend time
trying to decide exactly where you will be at 11:15 AM PDT on October 2nd, so
here's the link to the WWRUG13 breakout session schedules.

http://wwrug13.com/schedules.html

The schedules page will refer you to each day, keynote speakers, presenter's
biographies and topics. If you'd prefer to start looking at Monday, September
30, use

http://wwrug13.com/events_D1.html

This would be an appropriate time to thank WWRUG Advisory Board members Lenny
Warren and Phil Bautista for generously curating and reviewing every topic and
session. They are working daily with our presenters, and have earned black
belts in both "PowerPoint" and "Demo." This is a generally tedious and
thankless task, except for the fact that they somehow wind up knowing a lot
more than the rest of us.

You are gently reminded that discounted registration rates for the WWRUG13
conference are available until July 19th, and advance registration is
encouraged. The WWRUG13 website also includes links to the Fairmont San Jose
hotel for the conference room rate. You must follow these links to get the
discount. You can learn more at:

http://wwrug13.com/registrations.html

See you in San Jose!

Hey Sam,

Appreciate the thought, but I don't know BPPM or Blade Logic at all.

Do you want me to forward it on?

Re: SRM v760 migrate (import/export) to SRM v8.1

2013-06-28 Thread Adams, Peter
What speaks against upgrading the existing SRM 7.6 / ITSM 7.0.03 environment
directly to 8.1?

Subject: SRM v760 migrate (import/export) to SRM v8.1

Hi All

We plan on creating/moving to a net new v81 env. We currently have a mix ARS
v75, ITSM v703, SRM v760 env.

For SRM... the BMC manuals, it says we need to "upgrade" our current ARS
v75/SRM v760 env to ARS/SRM v764 in order to migrate (export/import) into a
v8.1 env.

For those who have/had v763 and older SRM module, how did you migrate
(import/export) your older v760 SRD/PDT/AOT/WorkOrder templates to your new v81
env?

We have a base v764 and v81 env and I exported/imported a couple request from
our SRM v760 --> v764 --> v81.  The imported SRD(s) work in v81... but I do not
know if there are any implications or hidden gotchas... doing it this way.

thanks in advance

Dave

Hello All,

I have 3 questions around ARS Java API.

1. I have a Active Link Object, how do I get the human readable Run If
Qualification ?
i.e.
ActiveLink arObject = server.getActiveLink(arObjectName);
System.out.println("Run If: " + arObject.getQualifier());

This prints Run If: [Operation=1,Operand Left=[Operation=1,Operand
Left=[Operation=1,Operand Left=[Operation=4,Operand Left=[Operation=2,Operand
Left=[Operand Type=[type=99],Operand=65563],Operand Right=[Operand
Type=[type=2],Operand=0]],Operand Right=],Operand
Right=[Operation=4,Operand Left=[Operation=1,Operand Left=[Operand
Type=[type=50],Operand=70010],,

I want it to print like Run If: '65563' > 24 i.e. in a string format
that Developer Studio shows on screen. So is there any API method for this one ?

2. Set/Push Qualification returns null, even if there's a qualification
given. Always return null for all Filters/Active link.
ActiveLinkAction action = any Push Action of Active link.
com.bmc.arsys.api.PushFieldsAction s = (com.bmc.arsys.api.PushFieldsAction)
action

System.out.println("\t\t Push Qualification: " +
s.getPushIfQualificationAsString());

This prints  Push Qualification: null

3. Set Field Action field mapping returns null, for e.g. below code is
reading assigned values to field. However this works fine for
com.bmc.arsys.api.PushFieldsAction.
com.bmc.arsys.api.SetFieldsFromForm s = (com.bmc.arsys.api.SetFieldsFromForm)
action;
List setFieldsList = s.getSetFieldsList();
for (FieldAssignInfo sfi : setFieldsList) {
AssignInfo assignment = sfi.getAssignment();
System.out.println("\t\t\t" + sfi.getFieldId() + " = " +
sfi.getAssignmentAsString());
}
This prints  605121212 = null
Whereas I am expecting it to print : 605121212 = $assignment$

Does anyone has solution to above issues ?

I have tried with 701 and 7604 version of Java API on 701 server environment.

Thanks & Regards,
Anandsagar

[cid:image001.png@01CE73FB.0DBDA140]

I can see that , he can receive Notification he has been assigned particular

when I checked the task , it was not assigned to his name bit it was assigned
only to his support group.

Do you guys have any idea , why this is happening ?
